Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

That's good info, thanks.

What about inferring herd immunity by tracking C19 fatalities in a region or country?

That’s trickier. That’s the point I was making about effective herd immunity vs true herd immunity. If contact isn’t totally back to normal then you can be fooled, also transmissibility can vary with temperature.

Either my brother's pinky toe, or those two weird third cousins that occasionally came to the family reunions that no one knew. Depending on how wide we're casting the net of "family".

Don’t tell me what I’m doing. You have no clue. Butt out of my posts.

PS: You're substituting emoting for reasoning.

All scientists changed their minds about masks. Try to keep up. We are exactly where we are because of Trump. Democrats are not in the Oval Office or control the Senate. Those folks are driving the boat.

Did you ever think that this virus may be God's way of getting rid of fat Donnie T for the US? What supreme irony it would be given all the conservative Christians who hug his sack.
See that makes absolutely no sense..... masks are not a new invention.... they have known or should have known the effectiveness of masks for years.... its not like the information changed.

You also don't know how to quote. It's generally pretty simple. I can type up a short tutorial if you think it'd help. If fixed this one for you for free.

I'll even add an appendix that covers how free, anonymous, PUBLIC DISCUSSION boards work. That may be of benefit as well.

You have a peachy day, Grumbly. :)

It may have already been posted on here, but the best site I have found for a wealth of data/graphs on COVID-19 is covidgraph.com One thing I noticed is the Leathality difference between northern and southern states (with some exceptions). I wonder if there is a direct correlation here on sunshine and vitamin D?

How does it not make sense? As time passed, scientists knew more about the transmission of COVID. Is that so hard to understand?

It’s very possible. However, case capture rates were very different in early vs late states, which would make the numbers skewed regardless of other (real) factors.

Texas did have some early cases that might make for better comparisons - but numbers were much lower making the statistics difficult.

Two factors led to the change:
1) They wanted masks to go to medical providers early
2) The degree to which asymptomatic spread might play a role in the epidemic was not fully appreciated

Let’s say you have a mask. You touch door handles and other objects. You reach up and touch your mask to adjust it. You take it off to eat and put it back on. Aren’t you contaminating the mask with your hands?

My wife and I have made a sport of watching mask etiquette. It’s horrifying.
