Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

It doesn't take 10 minutes within 6 feet of the same person.

Obviously common sense is wasted on you.
Umm.................I am not a doctor, but by my understanding is simply coming into contact with the virus doesn't mean you will get it. You have to receive a certain viral load to get sick. If they are not coughing or sneezing it could take a while.

So I see UTAD has spent about $60,000 on continuous testing. I'm guessing that is in 2 months. Going to be quite the hefty new line item in the budget. A budget suffering from this already.

And yet people still get it. Strange I know.

Obviously not if someone is coughing or spitting right in your face but does that happen often? It’s never happened to me except for my kids maybe coughing in my face. You’re right though. The CDC said 15 minutes it seems in the first link. The second link mentions 10 minutes and there are many others. I guess you missed that but that’s no surprise. So, if you’re just passing by someone in a store, even if you both are without masks, how are you going to catch it? Hint, you aren’t unless they sneeze, cough, or spit right on you and you happen to breathe in some of their droplets. Even then it isn’t a guarantee you get it. Again, common sense genius.

It’s not strange . How many times have you been out in public and people cough and not cover their mouth. How many times have you been in the men’s restroom where people didn’t wash their hands. Social distancing is the least of our problems. People are just nasty.

I think people transmit way more through their hands than they realize. Touching their face then touching an object. Another person touches it and then touches their face.

I saw a guy that is a certifiable covid freak , I know the guy, sneeze 2 times and never cover his mouth because he was so engrossed with whatever he was reading on his phone.

The mortality rate of the Spanish Flu was about 2.5%....the mortality rate as it stands right now is 3.9%. Unfortunately there has been so much mud thrown into the water, no one even trust the numbers.
Now wait a second. I thought we are supposed to use the numbers infected to generate mortality per some one this board. It infected 500M and killed 50M. That’s the math used to come up with your 3.9% so we need to be apples to apples here even though that 3.9% represents a number that has been dropping and will drop even further. That 500M was close to a third of the world’s population at the time too. If 1/3 got infected today that would be about 2.5B and the same death rate would yield 250M dead. Yeah, this virus isn’t anywhere near that one.

As a matter of fact my titres came back stellar.
measles, mumps, rubella, tb-, diphtheria and pertussis. Had my yearly physical, tires kicked and ready to wade back into the cesspool that is ICU.
Is Reb ok with you talking like that on here? Maybe I should read that first sentence again.

It’s just a joke Reb. Don’t hunt me down.

A local infectious medicine doctor said yesterday on Nashille radio if Trump had put uniform federal corona virus rules in place from the beginning, we would already be out of this mess. Since there are none, states and localities have been free to do what they want.
Uh, the Dems bitched, whined, and moaned when Trump even mentioned Federal mandates. He then released a plan for states to follow and the blue states said no. That would include the Northeastern states. Check out which states have caused the most deaths.
