especially after learning the content of the Pentagon Papers.... and the way the public treated returning servicemen, you can't really blame any one who did not want to serve and avoided it, but I admire the ones that went. Personally, the Uncle Walter body counts were not a highlight of my day when my brother was in Nam (I was about 10).Because most people hate the idea of a draft would be my guess
W wasn’t a draft dodger. In the Air National guard he flew the F-105 Thunderchief, which was not an easy plane to fly. Maybe you consider him a dodger, but of the four you listed, he at least strapped it on.I don't know what is causing this phenomenon, but it is truly amazing how dodgers like Clinton, W., Trump, and Biden can be so obviously the epitome of cowardice and yet have the masses flock to them with such rigor.
The draft was BS. I don't have an issue with someone trying to avoid going to Vietnam. That place was terrible. That being said, the guys dodging the draft tended to be people of higher standing leaving the lay person pretty much f'ed.I don't know what is causing this phenomenon, but it is truly amazing how dodgers like Clinton, W., Trump, and Biden can be so obviously the epitome of cowardice and yet have the masses flock to them with such rigor.
With George W. Bush, the controversy wasn't over whether or not he dodged the draft, it was over the question of whether or not he had sufficiently completed his duties in the Air National Guard to justify his honorable discharge in 1973. Bush's own records show he fell well short of fulfilling his obligations. It's not hard to see that he did receive preferential treatment as the son of a United States Senator.W wasn’t a draft dodger. If you really do listen to Trump's speeches, then you will hear a lot more of him airing grievances, calling people childish nicknames, playing the victim card, and feeling sorry for himself than you will hear anything else.I just heard a few minutes of Trumps speech Saturday. It amazes me anytime a R speaks, including Trump and they always talk about how great America is. When dems speak they are always talking about how bad we are. Crazy
I listened and it was how great America is and how the founders were hero’s etc which is a huge contrast to when dems speech. Dems spend their whole lives telling us how bad and racist we are as a countryIf you really do listen to Trump's speeches, then you will hear a lot more of him airing grievances, calling people childish nicknames, playing the victim card, and feeling sorry for himself than you will hear anything else.
