I'm not saying that Leach wouldn't be an upgrade over what we've had. But if we're going to go to the effort to fire Fulmer and hire a new coach, we ought to try to hire the absolute best one available, not whoever the flavor of the month is.

May I suggest that you change your defaults to show 40 posts per page rather than whatever the default is. I'm not sure I'd wade into a 125-page thread if I knew that investment advice from time travelers from the future was buried somewhere in it.

You go to the second-best. Then the third-best. Etc, etc. If you look at Leach's entire tenure at TTU instead of the last two months, I don't see how you don't put him way down the list. With eight mediocre seasons and one great one, it sure seems to me like the great one is most likely the outlier.

I'm not saying he is the answer either, yes there are better options out there. All I'm saying is dont hang a man because he is different. Give me Gruden or Cowher any day. Just saying this cat dont suck.

they palyed it on Doc, Jeff and Heather in the morning on the sports animal. It was the rest of the interview after Gerald said Mike hamilton better make the right hire.

He is definitely one strange dude! I guess if he can win games nobody cares. I can't believe he paused and placed an order at a McDonalds drive-thru while doing a live radio interview. LMAO......

I don't care if he's different. I care about this: 7-6, 7-5, 9-5, 8-5, 8-4, 9-3, 8-5, 9-4. Those are Leach's records at TTU before this season. I know he plays in the same division as Texas and Oklahoma, but who's he losing all those other games to?

I don't doubt that he's a good coach, but that's not exactly a resume which screams, "Somebody needs to pay me millions of dollars a year to coach in the SEC."

I'm not a big fan of a potential Leach hire, but I will point out that Nick Saban's previous records looked pretty similar before LSU hired him from Michigan State.

Thanks for your rendition, but I didnt call anyone an idiot. Poster sounded like he "bleeds" SEC and not aware that other conf. or schemes were valid. Care to research my postings of Leach? I never said he was the end all be all, just a supporter. You dont like Leach fine, dont jump my ass because I do. We have weeks to go before the new HC is named. We keep this bickering up for all that want the best for this program over petty shite, the VN is divided. Wise man once said, "Goooos fa bra" :hi:

Go to the upper lefthand corner and click on "User CP" then click on "Edit Options" and change your thread display to "40 posts per page". It will make these 1,000 post threads easier to deal with. :eek:k:

No question that Saban was the flavor of the month after going 9-2 with Sparty. LSU got lucky. When you go that route, sometimes you get Nick Saban; sometimes you get Dan Hawkins.

What?

Show me where I bleed SEC and am not aware of other conferences being valid or whatever. I watch everything. I usually sit up until 1 AM watching the end of the Pac 10 games, for crying out loud.

I am not a Saban fan but if you have not looked at his resume you should. He was HC at Toledo for 1 year before the NFL called him to be DC for the Browns under Belichick for 4 years before going to Michigan St. Thats why his defenses play so well.

FWIW, Johnny Majors only had one good year at Pitt before coming here, where his teams would have gotten any contemporary coach fired up until 85.

Leach has produced offense wherever he's been. He turned Oklahoma's offense around, then went to Tech and never had a losing season. Averaged 8 something wins, even though he had to play Texas, A&M, and Oklahoma every year.
