And if anyone out there puts ketchup on steak, you are a horrible, horrible person.
If you're going to cook it well done you might as well. Only thing acceptable on a properly cooked steak is horseradish or hot Chinese mustard.
 
I've been keeping opened ketchup in my refrigerator "for years" without any issues. Once it's opened, it's going in the refrigerator at my house.

I actually keep one bottle of ketchup in the fridge and one in the pantry. For some things I like it cold; for others I prefer room temp. And I’ll take my steak pan seared, rare with salt, pepper, and butter. The only condiments I need with it are some roasted taters and a cold damn beer.
