The Atlanta Braves

This might be the dumbest decision in sports history. What were the Saints thinking?

Might as well go full weekend ball - pool play, seed em, double elim

See who the real men are fighting through the losers bracket

Seriously. A 16 team playoff is absurd. How the hell they gonna finish that in October have a bunch of play in games for lower seeds?

Might get flack for this but between baseball and the NBA’s crazy bubble plan, along with COVID cases rising again. I’m almost just ready to have them say “**** it” and not have sports until football in September. Idk if they’re gonna be able to do all these sports in a month.

I wonder if we’re going to see 4 man rotations as a result of this or some similar change.

Would also guess we’re gonna see Markakis and Ender out there every day with Ozuna and Riley DHing a lot.

And the prospect thing is so fascinating. We’ve got a ton of pitchers who needed big league innings this year. Do we force feed them some so they’re not wasted for 12 months or is every game of such importance that you can’t?

Perfectly reasonable IMO. It’s basically just them trying to do whatever they have to in order to make sure they honor their TV contracts so they can collect that money, competitive integrity be damned. Obviously any championships won under any of these plans will come along with a MASSIVE asterisk. Plus, like you mentioned, it might be safer to give COVID a little more time to hopefully run it’s course.

I agree with all in premise but I think you have a window to ramp up here before COVID punches again in November. Could be in the same boat come next March and you can’t go two years without baseball-basketball. I believe the Super Bowl is most in jeopardy.
