Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

First it was we need to flatten the curve.

Then it was we need to get testing numbers up.

Now it’s we need a vaccine.

Next? Probably we need to wait and see if the vaccine is effective next year.

This has to stop. Burócratas love to control the people.

It bewilders me that so many people have been so willing to just hand over all of their freedoms.

Just looking at the guy from pictures I would say his weight is playing a huge factor in his ability to recover quickly. Not saying the virus is a hoax but this guy is fighting an uphill battle already without any illness
We see stories like this in the news every day. It's not news any more.

Inconvenient truth: this disease targets fat asses. I know that's politically incorrect but the point is valid. If you want to increase your resistance to this disease: get in shape

Any time that someone feels the need to preface a point with "I didn't vote for Trump"... it's almost always a Trump minion who is trying to establish non-partisan credibility for a completely lame argument they're about to make.
Hey, Bo, have you said anything negative about a Democrat?

If so, Trump would already have it.

In all seriousness, the Coronavirus doesn't "target" anyone specifically, but you are much more likely to become ill when you contract it, if you have a pre-existing condition such as diabetes or a chronic lung and respiratory disease such as emphysema or asthma. People who have such diseases are more likely to be obese than the average healthy person. So, while your point is not inaccurate, it is over-simplistic.

Colleges Are Deluding Themselves

"We must ask ourselves: What would make leaders gamble with human life this way? The answer is twofold: fear and acquiescence—both of which, when left unchecked, lead down a path to moral damnation. "
Colleges should just go ahead and shut down forever since this is the “direst crises” they’ve ever faced. There’s no hope.

It was meant to be to the point. This is only a social media messaging board. This isn't a Ph D dissertation.

Someone who is obese is much more likely be become seriously ill with this. Whereas a fit person like say Rand Paul or Kevin Durant is likely to barely know they have it.

I kept hearing this "thing" being referred to as a she. NFW is this a she, this is dude all the way.

Not one of the better "trans" formations I've seen. Your instincts are correct. This is a he who's gone through self mutilation and now wants to be called a she. I don't consider a genital surgery and hormone pills to be enough to change your sex but that's another thread.

Based on some analysis I've been working on, I'm using a few states to watch impact of mobility very closely. Georgia is one - but because they had fewer infections there is more noise in the data. Michigan is very similar to Georgia in their return to mobility - and because there is a bigger signal there, it is an interesting proxy.

Based on my work, I think we would just now see a rise in deaths that came from their drop in social distancing. If you do not see negative numbers coming over the next week, it is a great piece of data that says opening up is not causing an immediate surge. But, it'll be something I'm watching carefully.
Let me know next week, seriously. I am down here in GA so I am interested.

Yes, because someone who is obese is more likely to have diabetes and other pre-existing conditions such as heart disease and chronic high blood pressure, than the average physically fit person. Your point was an over-simplification, however. Losing weight will not rid someone of asthma, for example.

I don't know why, but picking those two people as your examples has me cracking up lmao.

Felon Freed from Jail Over Coronavirus Accused of Murdering Young Woman

A convicted felon who was freed from a Colorado prison over concerns of the Chinese coronavirus spreading has been arrested less than a month later for allegedly murdering a 21-year-old woman.

Cornelius Haney has been charged for the first-degree murder of Heather Perry, whose body was found in a Denver, Colorado alleyway, according to CBS Denver.

Haney allegedly murdered Perry less than a month after he was released from prison thanks to Gov. Jared Polis’s (D) executive order freeing some inmates from jails and prisons over fears of the coronavirus spreading in state and local detention facilities.

Haney had been serving a seven-year prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2016 to an armed robbery in Arapahoe County, Colorado. Haney was not eligible for mandatory release until August, but Polis’s order giving the state’s corrections board authority to reduce sentences over the coronavirus allowed the felon to secure early release on April 15.
