Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I've never directly worked for a large company but several of our clients are and I've seen some of the results of these ERGs. In almost every case I know of participation becomes expected and performance reviews reflect upper managements views on what you should be participating in.

I work for a very large company and we have ERGs for everything from LGBT to Hispanic to Green Initiatives. I'm also in management.

I have never seen anything that would suggest ERG participation is expected. Performance reviews certainly have nothing to do with it. We are so risk averse with lawsuits and what not, HR won't let that be a part of the process.

This is just me and anecdotal, but that is my experience.

Sure it will , just not the majority of us . The more they lose their ability to hold onto total control the more scary articles and possibilities if we aren’t careful , we will see .

This is absolutely happening and will increase.

This is not political from me, but journalism has become a disgrace and it has negative consequences.

Trump has a hand in it whether you want to admit it or not. This is what happens when you elect an entertainer and a leader is needed
You can say he messed up saying there would be zero cases or what ever to nitpick him about.

But blaming him for listening to the top two disease specialists isn't one. Could you imagine the outrage if he hadn't listened to them? Who is your definition of a "leader" to you? No matter who you say they would've had to listen to the experts just like Trump did.

Now what's debatable is the different responses for this virus that would've been suggested if Hillary was in compared to Trump.

My observations are also anecdotal but it happens.

Why do you bring up Australia so much? You do realize it is a hotter climate than the US don't you. Winter there is like spring and fall in the US. Summer is like living in death valley.
It’s so bad they recorded their hottest month ever this past January. A whopping average of 86 degrees.

Australia records hottest month ever

The average temp in Tennessee in July is 89 degrees...

Jeeezzzz... this ain't good.

What parents should know about the mysterious coronavirus-related disease affecting children: pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome

Health officials are investigating 102 cases in New York, where three children have died from the Kawasaki-like illness

Health officials are increasingly sounding the alarm on what could be a COVID-19-related illness in children that’s been reported in at least 14 states and five European countries.
The rare but possibly life-threatening condition, which is being called pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome, or PMIS, presents with symptoms that often differ from kid to kid, and can include fever, stomach pain and rashes, as well as red eyes, loss of appetite and lethargy. This is similar to what’s seen in Kawasaki disease, a rare inflammatory condition which tends to hit one in 10,000 American children under five, as well as toxic shock syndrome, a complication from an infection that can include fever, low blood pressure, vomiting and rashes.
The New York State Department of Health is investigating more than 100 cases of this mysterious new malady, which is showing up in patients ranging from infants to 21-year-olds, Gov. Andrew Cuomo revealed on Wednesday. Three children in New York have died.
“It’s a wide array of symptoms, as you can see, which makes it even harder for parents to know exactly what they’re dealing with,” Cuomo said during his daily coronavirus presser.
“As a parent, I can tell you this is a parent’s worst nightmare, right?” Cuomo continued. “We thought that children were not specifically affected by the virus. To now find out they might be, and it might be several weeks later … this is truly disturbing.”

The CDC is also expected to issue an alert any time now that tells doctors to report cases of this to their state and local health departments, Reuters reported. And Dr. Anthony Fauci mentioned it during his Senate testimony on Tuesday, describing the “children presenting with COVID-19 who actually have a very strange inflammatory syndrome.” He added, “I think we better be careful that we are not cavalier in thinking that children are completely immune to the deleterious effects (of the virus).’’
There are approximately 20K cases of Kawasaki disease in America every year, overall out look when contracting the disease is pretty good

Short-term: resolves within days to weeks

Treatable by a medical professional

Requires a medical diagnosis

Lab tests or imaging often required

Anything to keep the economy closed, huh? Give me a break - CV has been here since January at least, maybe even before, and now right in the middle of things finally starting to open back up 5 months later, there is all of a sudden a child disease caused by this?

This is convenient. I'm pretty convinced at this point that there really is an agenda to keep things closed for whatever reason.

the outrage from being right? He started out fine and then cowered when given the chance to lead. He needed to get input from more than just 2 people and then make an educated decision. Seems he wasn't really interested in doing that

Yeah but you socialists act like it is ALL his fault. When he instituted the travel ban... racist. You know what... I don't even want to write the list anymore. You know how two faced ya'll are being about all this. I just pray that you get blown out of the water in November.

I don't think there was any way he was going to hold back the tide once the situations in Italy and Spain got ugly and the northeastern U.S. started rolling downhill.

This. It is why even though I did not vote for Trump and he doesnt line up with me politically on many issues, I find myself pulling for "his side". Because there looks to be a deep state, whether it is formal or informal, it exists.
