Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I love it. The media digs in and believes that they are right but are to stupid to realize that no one cares about your racist insinuations like the Asian reporterette of yesterday. What a middle school hack

The reporters are there to get Trump to say something they can spin. Today's goal was to get him to say something they can spin into something racist.

So now it's racist to point out that the CCP virus is from China when talking to an Asian reporter. It's an obvious trap and he walked away.

And that despicable reporterette knew it. I'm still curious if she was the one who falsely claimed someone harassed her by referring to it as the Kung Flu?

Joe is not the President...yet. Trump is in power and should have a plan.

Joe very well could be POTUS next year and he claims everything Trump has done is wrong so WTF is his plan? What would he have done different? What will he do to speed up our recovery?

Or is his whole candidacy just "get rid of Trump"?

Don't like the facts? Call him a clown!

I see you have learned well from your master Trump and his school of ignorance is bliss.
His facts said the country needed to shut down for 18mos. There wouldn't be a country left if we followed him

I am pretty well prepared if that were to happen. Your skills would not be worth much

Again, your ignorance is bliss pretty sure I've said several times that Trump is a clown. I don't follow one person blindly like the sheep you are. I use common sense and common sense tells me this is all a power play. Shouldn't you be in the Flynn thread defending Obama? I'd say rona is the least of your worries right now.

There is nothing racist about "Kung Flu" and they know it. They are really trying to downplay that it came from China.

The IHME model fits recent deaths and uses trends from other countries to help predict our deaths. Honestly, I've been impressed with this model's death forecasts from the beginning. I thought the peak would come later and higher; it didn't. They were right. The got the peak timing and amplitude right, early. There recent model is assuming that relaxed social distancing causes a longer tail - and it will, unless the virus transmissibility is changing. And that is something there model wont' "see."

It's also fair to point out that the blue check mark crowd was pushing back harder against the notion that it was so prevalent back in November and December that Uncle Joe, Cousin Teddy, Aunt Mary, Mom, and brother all had it when they had that respiratory infection last Thanksgiving.

The idea that it was floating around in late December or definitely January isn't contrary at all to the timeline we've seen play out. The idea that widespread community transmission was in place last year just doesn't make sense given death progression and antibody testing.

Right after being wrong? They had TN at 5,000.

We will never truthfully know what the actual death toll numbers are as seemingly everyone who died (of other causes) were tested and if tested positive were classified as dying of the Chinavirus.

You have to wonder how many of these hospital and nursing home patients were in hospice or were considered terminally ill before they contracted the virus?

Excess deaths has actually tracked well (so far!, we should always analyze and track) with COVID-reported deaths. So, as I've posted here for a while, I'm not worried about how we are assigning COVID deaths at this point. The data don't suggest we are hyper-inflating numbers.

IHME model is flaud, according to their model yesterday in Virginia they said we would only test 4312 and we would have 1714 positive cases. Well, in Virginia we actually tested just shy of 10K people according to our governor and there we less than 800 positive cases.

Right after being wrong? They had TN at 5,000.

Their total deaths in their first model were around 88k...that went up to the low 90s...down to 60s. But that first model ended up being quite right, IMO with the assumptions they had.

I'm not sure how they were so right in total deaths (peak timing and amount) but wrong on where those were occurring if they had TN at 5000. Maybe just lucky (but it's some serious luck to get peak timing and deaths/day so close).

I wouldn't focus too much on their testing forecast......not even sure what you would base that on.
