China Asked The WHO To Help Cover Up Coronavirus, German Intelligence Concludes

Chinese Leader Xi Jinping personally asked the World Health Organization to delay the release of critical information regarding its coronavirus outbreak, German intelligence has concluded.

Xi met with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on January 21 to request that he withhold information about human-to-human transition and delay the declaration of a global pandemic, according to German magazine Der Spiegel. The news comes amid rising sentiment that China should be held financially responsible for the pandemic. (RELATED: Second Mike Pence Staffer Tests Positive For Coronavirus)

“The BND’s verdict is harsh: At least four, if not six, weeks have been lost in Beijing’s information policy in the fight against the virus,” Der Spiegel reported.

BND is the native German acronym for its Federal Intelligence Service. Four to six weeks of additional preparation time could have avoided the global pandemic entirely, according to a study published in early March. Researchers at the University of Southampton found that if China had acted and gone public with its information just three weeks sooner, it could have reduced spread of the disease by as much as 95%.

The U.S. intelligence community similarly concluded by mid-March that China had been falsifying its data on both coronavirus cases and deaths in its outbreaks in Wuhan and elsewhere. (RELATED: Democratic Witness In House Coronavirus Hearing Pleaded Guilty In 2019 Sex Abuse Case)

SIAP and might mean nothing, but I remain hopeful that something on some level is going to help.

I remember seeing the first article when it came out. ------> Heartburn medication being tested as coronavirus treatment in NYC hospitals
But that was in the midst of the "malarial drug = aquarium cleaner" BS and nonsense.

Then, tonight, there is another one. ------> Famotidine study shows Covid-19 patients who took heartburn drug were less likely to die, but researchers caution more research is needed - CNN

First is from FOX. Second is CNN.

The CNN article indicates, ". . . that doctors might start prescribing famotidine to their coronavirus patients now, before the results of the clinical trial are known, but he doesn't recommend it."

That really threw me a little because it's OTC. I get them at Sam's Club because my primary care doctor has told me to take these for several years as an H2 inhibitor for allergies and not as anything related to heartburn, GERD, or acid reflux specifically, though it works in that area. The only thing the doctor said was to be sure to take a multivitamin supplement because the famotidine seems to suppress vitamin production in some patients (at least that's what I understood her to tell me). And I thought that story from CNN was interesting in light of what I read a day or so ago about Vitamin D.

Just throwin this out there. Carry on.

Coronavirus: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Nursing Home Scandal Grows

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who has won bipartisan praise for rallying supplies for his ravaged hospitals and helping slow the coronavirus, is coming under increasing criticism for not bringing that same level of commitment to a problem that has so far stymied him: nursing homes.

In part-lecture, part-cheerleading briefings that have made him a Democratic counter to President Donald Trump, Cuomo has often seemed dismissive and resigned to defeat when asked about his state leading the nation in nursing home deaths.

“We’ve tried everything to keep it out of a nursing home, but it’s virtually impossible,” Cuomo told reporters. “Now is not the best time to put your mother in a nursing home. That is a fact.”

Residents’ relatives, health care watchdogs and lawmakers from both parties cite problems with testing and transparency that have prevented officials — and the public — from grasping the full scale of the catastrophe.

And they are second-guessing a state directive that requires nursing homes take on new patients infected with COVID-19 — an order they say accelerated outbreaks in facilities that are prime breeding grounds for infectious diseases.

“The way this has been handled by the state is totally irresponsible, negligent and stupid,” said Elaine Mazzotta, a nurse whose mother died last month of suspected COVID-19 at a Long Island nursing home. “They knew better. They shouldn’t have sent these people into nursing homes.”

Of the nation’s more than 25,000 coronavirus deaths in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, more than a fifth of them — about 5,300 — are in New York, according to a count by The Associated Press, and the toll has been increasing by an average of 20 to 25 deaths a day for the past few weeks.

Gotta get those numbers up. Gotta defeat Trump.

Kill Grandma's to do it? You betcha.

Man if he moves the headquarters of Tesla & SpaceX out of California!

Elon made a mistake choosing states owned by Democrats. He should have chosen states based on their friendliness to business. Arizona or Texas in the west and Tennessee or North Carolina in the east would have made better choices. I don't think he anticipated that Democrats would treat him so badly.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are cut from the same cloth, if only they could get along politically. Maybe Elon is having his red pill moment.

For the record, I think green technology is really cool. I just don't want the government mandating it. Let the people make their own decisions. If your product is attractive, people will buy it and you will make money. Capitalism. Simple.

Like most of what Trump says there is truth mixed in with the rest of that incoherent babble.
1% truth and 99% incoherent babble mixed with flat out lying most of the time is not a good resume for a President. But I guess my standards are different than some others.

Trump likes to promote his ignorance with a hearty dash of false bravado. Sort of the theme of his entire tenure, don't you think ?
