One thing unclear. Will Canada ban "military grade" and/or "assault style" weapons from the RCMP, Canadian Military, Government Agencies, and local law enforcement?
If not, they aren't banning those weapons at all. They're simply banning private ownership of them.

Would love for somebody to build a wood stock .223 receiver with an internal magazine of, say 10 rounds, stain the whole thing brown, and see if anybody has a problem with it.

Or better yet, get a .22 rifle, mod the stock and barrel, puts some mean looking optics on it, paint it black, and see what everyone thinks.

Louder with crowder has a video testing out this theory in public and it ends up exactly like you think it would . Scary looking guns should be banned regardless of caliber . While the plain ones are looked at as hunting rifles , regardless of caliber .

Edit : this is the one they decided that was ok for people to have from the video , it’s a Henry 357 that hold either 13 or 15 round in the tube the others that were black and tactical looking were all a no go ..

Hell..just get a shot gun with a duckbill to flatten the spread of your large caliber steel shot and with just 7 rounds you could chew through an entire crowd. That would be extreme carnage.
