Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Norfolk, and we have nurses who are not getting their hours. Several are coming to ICU which has its own set of problems but They are tasking only. They put in a recent update we were not going to run respiratory panels on people but go straight to a covid19 test @Rickyvol77 any rationale behind this?
We've tested people who clearly don't fit the criteria and been made to follow procedures for covid19 intubation that have delayed treatment.
Driving home this morning 64 was almost back to parking lot status. The natives are getting restless. I think wreck it Ralph is being ignored.
My understanding is health depts are now just assuming anyone who has symptoms just needs to be tested for COVID whether they have flu or not. I can’t speak for everyone though. Different states and cities are doing different things

Quote where it was his policy to send patients to nursing homes. I heard and saw him say he didn't know that is what was happening. NYPost is fake news, bud.

That's his name on the March 25th directive. https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/s...covid19-_nhadmissionsreadmissions_-032520.pdf

But let's say he didn't know, that his DOH director Zucker took it upon himself. Since Zucker has not been fired, well....

Not only does the policy remain in effect, but Cuomo is defending the policy, stating nursing homes have no right to rejects C19 patients.
Howard Zucker, the state health commissioner, said that nursing homes needed to readmit positive patients and that “necessary precautions will be taken.”
On Thursday, Mr. Cuomo reiterated that nursing homes had to accept the patients — but only, he clarified, if they could do so safely. Homes unable to comply should transfer them to other facilities or notify the state Health Department, he said.

‘Playing Russian Roulette’: Nursing Homes Told to Take the Infected
California, New Jersey and New York have made nursing homes accept Covid-19 patients from hospitals. Residents and workers fear the policy is risking lives. ‘Playing Russian Roulette’: Nursing Homes Told to Take the Infected
He followed up the threat of investigation to determine that nursing homes are meeting the obligations established by the directive:
"The Governor also announced a new directive requiring nursing homes to immediately report to DOH the actions they have taken to comply with all DOH and CDC laws, regulations, directives and guidance. DOH will inspect facilities that have not complied with these directives, including separation and isolation policies, staffing policies and inadequate personal protective equipment, and if DOH determines that the facilities failed to comply with the directives and guidance, DOH will immediately require the facility to submit an action plan. Facilities could be fined $10,000 per violation or potentially lose their operating license." This I would be interested in just to see . Also it may help in some way . I’m not anti medical I just don’t see the logic in mass testing unless you are seeking medical attention or taking part in a study group .
We are all in a study group. A 300+ million subject group

We are all in a study group. A 300+ million subject group
How to control the population 101
1. Tell them they're going to die if they come out of their houses
2. Give them money after 1 month for calming purposes
3. Start arresting those who don't comply
4. Kill those who don't comply

Absolute brilliant leadership....facilities are struggling against a pandemic...... instead of giving them support..... let’s fine them so they have even less money to take care of their residents with.

I’m now interested to see how things pan out as we “re-open.” For instance, Governor Cuomo is starting to reopen NY to the point of allowing elective surgeries at hospitals.

Our family usually goes to Maine for the summer from NY. But Governor Mills of Maine is still requiring a 14 day in home quarantine for people coming into the state. I not sure what science or guidelines she is following, but tourism is one of Maine’s primary economic drivers.

It’ll be interesting to see how different states respond to other states varying “regulations.”

Of course they are covered with vanco and zosyn until we find out what's going on so no delay in treatment. Maybe it's because they are put in the strictest isolation possible they don't need to run the panels until covid19 is R/O. That would make sense.

Knoxville hospitals are opening up May 4th for surgeries and other ancillary departments. They are requiring certain preop patients to get tested for COVId first but not everyone

That's cute. This is obviously the brainchild of Cuomo. lol. More fault could be placed on the Hospitals for discharging them.

Just remember the Covid didn't kill them their underlying condition did. Am I right or am I right?

We can see it everyday here , people are coming out more and more . More people in stores , more people out walking and more cars on the roads . We see less masks and gloves or maybe it’s just more people making it seem less people are wearing them . The governor has not changed anything but the people are starting to move around more anyway .

We have opened for certain surgeries. Those who might have bad outcomes if they don't have them now. Still have low census and many nurses not working.

Five Businesses Sue Democrat Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over Constitutional Rights

KATHERINE RODRIGUEZ 29 Apr 2020

A Michigan law firm filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon on behalf of five small business clients regarding the limits of the state’s constitutional power.

The small businesses are demanding a trial by jury and “a declaratory and injunctive relief” from the state for violating their constitutional rights by keeping their businesses closed during the stay-at-home order, WJBK reported.

The law firm’s press release stated:
The lawsuit cites speculative modeling on the infectiousness and lethality of a new coronavirus, Governor Whitmer has issued executive orders that have shuttered civil society, placed 10 million people under house arrest and taken jobs away from nearly 1.2 million people, all without due process of law. The Governor has not disclosed the data or methodology used to create the modeling that purportedly justifies this extreme action.

Again, Cuomo is defending the policy, not dismantling it, regardless of whether DOH director Zucker moved on his own or whether Cuomo knew about it. He isn't stating "wow! whose harebrained idea was this? Zuck and I are dismissing this directive, pronto!" - is he?

You obviously think it is a bad idea, why doesn't Cuomo? Explain it and we can both "lol".
