Why is signing without being drafted huge?

Mostly because no guaranteed contract I think.

I would say he's more of a pass first pro style. I think he had running success during the playoff because it was completely unexpected and the opponents didn't try to account for his running in their game plan. Peyton occasionally had a good run too

So he didn’t recruit Lawrence because of that style but Dormady was ok! Something doesn’t jibe with that theory.

I'm more inclined to believe that Lawrenceafter meeting Butch went home and told his daddy that coach is a freaking idiot. Besides I'm not sure Butch was even aware of what characteristic saved his ass in the case of Dobbs. In my opinion nothing Butch did made any sense

Yeah, they don’t know the history of it all. Pretty sure Hurd started a fight in training camp last year so they think he’s BA now. JJ gonna make him tie his shoes starting day one.

Inclined to agree. Just never bought that Butch passed on him...Lawrence did the heavy lifting.

Speaking of Hurd, I just started watching The Last Dance. Jordan showing up and seeing the guys around him just mailing it in reminded me of Butch-mentality players.

Someone needs to educate them on how Hurd quit on his team. I don't blame Hurd for transferring. That's on Butch IMO. But finish the game. He quit on his teammates in the middle of the South Carolina game. That was inexcusable.

Probably unrealistic but I was hoping Tyler Byrd would be able to sign as an UDFA somewhere.

If he wants to continue with football, he should consider the CFL. If he can go there and do something, it might draw some NFL interest.
