Watching 2018 UK...can't believe they were actually #11. Glad we put them back in their place.
That was Kentucky’s best team in over 40 years and they still got whooped.

I can’t believe we followed that up by getting run out of the stadium by Mizzou and Vandy. Wish we’d managed to get to a bowl game that year — I think it would’ve given us some more recruiting momentum.

No joke, have some terrible lower back pain and it basically gets so tight if I sit on a bed or anything that doesn’t support my back. Any suggestions here? I’ve probably had constant back pain for about 3 years now.

Find someone who can check all your hip girdle muscles, biggest culprit of isolated back pain. Most docs don’t even check.
If your state allows PT visits without a doctor’s order, start with a PT. Ask them to specifically check the hip girdle muscles
Gluteus maximus and medius
Piriformis
Hamstrings
Iliopsoas
Rectus femoris
Hip adductors
Hip Abductors

In the current environment, you can do an online search for stretches for these muscles. If you don’t have full range of motion with the stretch, then key on that tight muscle.

Also look for muscles that are tight on one side versus the other. The spine is like a suspension bridge, if one side has higher tension, the bridge is unsafe. If muscles are tighter on one side, easier for injuries to happen.

How old are you? Facet arthritis in the low back is a major culprit, especially with tight muscles and a belly.

a big belly can really affect the spine as well. For each excess belly pound, it’s 6 lbs of forward force on the spine. Puts the spine in an abnormal position with just about any activity.

I hope that some of this helps. I will try to catch any replies.

I also really recommend the inversion tables. Used to have one in my office (gave it to a patient that needed it more than I did)

Yoga is also a mainstay in my recommendations. Great way to attain and maintain flexibility. Also a great core strengthening exercise.

Yeah, definitely, but I’ve done a lot of reading on the matter and have a basic understanding of anatomy to know how to work with it, but I was hoping for a specific diagnosis.

There is a lot going on down there, SI joint, psoas, IT bands, rectus femoris.... I wanted someone to at least try to pinpoint my issues, prescribe movement corrections and retest over time, not just tell me “maybe I should use less weight when training legs” 🙄

So I become my own doc and mostly do fine. As you said, it’s generally hip flexor related so I stand often and take a long stride walk as a a warm up. my body hates a hip hinge so deadlift variations are no good. Using them now at home due to less equipment but I’m wary

A Physical Therapist could keep tabs on your progress or lack there of. They can also find side to side discrepancies. They can check if SI is aligned as well. I would stretch your Iliopsoas after every leg workout too.

Was just yanking your chain about the wrong doctor (still true😁)

I had a procedure for a ruptured disc in '82. Still have pain at times, so I'm going to get one.

My disc surgery was in 1991. I have no back pain if I stay fleixble, lift weights and keep my belly as small as possible.

I used an inversion table frequently for many years. Once I realized my trifecta of no big belly, flexibility and lifting/working out consistently, then I really haven’t needed it any more.

Was gonna say that this wasn't very VFL of you but then I realized he was a LB and LBs play better when pissed off so good job, Doc!
Didn’t know that her boyfriend was a Vol football player until later. One of my buddies work in the athletics dining room. He heard DM talking about it. Then saw me out with her. By then it was too late for me. But did I mention that she was drop dead gorgeous AND interested in me? Never had happened to me before...😊

Understood the Mizzou loss, but Vandy was just downright embarrassing. Playing for a bowl game and we get ran, ugh.

Never. Again.

no what I’m saying is if you’re going to bang the table for pro life that’s fine. But you also need to bang the table for every government assistance program, housing program, easier adoption, health care etc that these “babies” are going to one day need when they are born into bad situations.

Births are still outrunning deaths even with corona. Maybe it should just run it’s course.

I have heard Tennessee may cancel all fall sports for secondary schools. Basically, don’t expect any sports for kids anytime soon. It may actually be 2021. Seems like everyone just love to make decisions earlier than they have to be done. Hopefully, they will wait and decide these things with as much real information as possible.
Agree with this

Wildest play in recent memory - (AU game) Phillips strip sacks Stidham, the ball goes back 5 yards, DT handles it for a second before fumbling again to AT and walking into the end zone.

Amazing, improbable, unreal! That whole game, really. That team was given no chance and just played ball and took chances.
