Coronavirus (No politics)

Are local governments where you all are doing anything to assist local small businesses? Ours showed their support by sending my wife's business $1k in property tax bills due almost immediately after Governor Coonman's stay at home order ends in June.

I had to laugh at this being a fellow Virginian. Northam is killing us with this June 10th thing and in other bills he has signed off on in the past few days. For the life of me, I don’t understand why in mid March, he says June 10th, but reserves the right to change it if necessary to sooner. The whole world could set a date of May 15 and he will keep it to June.

On one hand, if you take into account Tennessee hasn’t had a outbreak and we all return to normal activities and then a real outbreak does occur we could be in for a even bigger mess than what we are now.

...which is a very real possibility thanks to keeping all the kids from developing herd immunity.

Some COVID totals you won't get from the news
They love to throw out total cases and death totals but leave out other less scary stats
Of the 613,886 total US cases 203,123 or 33% are in NY and another 68,824 are in NJ. Those two states account for 44% of the entire countries cases. Another 6,856 are for cases outside the country like US military, Puerto Rico, Guam, cruise ships.
That leaves 335,083 for the other 48 states. Another number that gets left out are recoveries. Remember 97% of patients recover within 10-14 days. If we assume only 30% of the total cases have recovered (TN is actually at 38%) that removes another 184,165 from total cases. We don't have a national pandemic every state is not "two weeks away from Italy or NYC" Tennessee and several other states are seeing recoveries outpace new cases. Also in TN 2/3 of the cases are in Davidson and Shelby counties. The 12 central East Tennessee valley counties have under 100 active cases total.
