Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

BS. God how many time have I heard you and the rest of the Redhats complain about Lawyers and Liberal indoctrination in college? Education is bad.

Education isn’t bad you toad . Bragging about how much better people are with an education vs without one is what’s bad . Just because you went into debt $100k to get a piece of paper doesn’t necessarily mean you are smarter for doing it . Our daughters are some extremely educated people but they don’t flaunt it and don’t ( better not ) put anyone down for not being at their level .

You'll learn that trump shut down travel from China early and got called names for it. He says it every night. Other than that there's not much new being shared
I got that early on, it was a wise move to shut down travel, the normal rhetoric followed, as usual. I'll catch new stuff as it comes out but it won't be from a presser.

Between that and the NYC charts linked earlier, those are pretty good odds. We also see that nations who didn't lockdown - S. Korea, Taiwan - have considerably better numbers. Sweden has a higher death rate but lower case rate, and life has run far more normally than the U.S.

We - and many countries now - adopted full faith in lockdown and isolation. Others took a markedly different route. Only when the dust settles will we know who adopted the more valid belief system.

It depends on what that 'education' is. When you are broken down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, that high school dropout that can come get your car running has a far more valuable 'education' than ANY Harvard MBA. And before any of you elitists poo poo that example, that is exactly what is wrong with America right now. Not enough plumbers, mechanics or welders to name a few. But we have all the PhD coffee pourers we need. A VoTech certificate is nowhere near as sexy as that MBA, and that is really unfortunate.

Sweden got started later than we did and has a much smaller population. I think it’s pretty early to say they’ve accomplished anything.

South Korea and Taiwan (both well prepared for an epidemic from their SARS scares) took drastic and early measures to control foreign travel into their country and tested like crazy to identify and isolate the infected. We did neither.

For you, it's probably your demeanor toward others in general, especially if you don't like them.

I don’t think the odds line up the way you think. Those case numbers were affected by the social distancing. They would skyrocket if we removed all the restrictions. Random screenings in Italy have suggested as much as 65% of the population in a hot spot could be infected.
