Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

There's Sweden. That's why the media/universities are waging war with them. Thank God Trump blasted them. They hate Trump so much I think they might actually stick with it through the steep curve.
Sweden has very low numbers right now and they had no meaningful data at all to show us when this was getting started here.

Lots of kids are taught from an early age to have additional funds/provisions in a time of emergency or loss of income. Shouldn't large billion dollar corporations or companies do the same?

Isn’t it supposed to be supplies for 12 months but at a minimum enough for 3 months?

LDS are a preppers best info and supply resource and as a bonus they’re a genealogical treasure trove😊

Year supply of food if possible. 6 Months of income to fund the home. Church has made changes before but that is the one I stick with.

The people in Cali were less dumb than the ones in NYC, plain and simple. California took the shelter at home seriously, dumb New Yorkers didn't.

I’m sure there’s some truth to that as I saw it with my own eyes. However, I also would be interested to see the data on the strains in each place. It has been recently shown that NYC virus was genetically similar to that in Europe, where the numbers are more similar. California seems to reflect more of what Asia is seeing. There were earlier studies about the L strain being more aggressive than the S strain. But I haven’t seen anything related to that with NY vs CA.

We took the unprecedented step of shutting down our country and economy over something we knew so little about. We trusted epidemiologists who have no accountability to steer our country into a recession based on the simple motto of we would rather prevent than treat. It's such a simple view of the world.

It wasn’t unprecedented. China had already shown that it was an effective measure. We did a lot less than they did.

Who would you have suggested we trust to advise us on how to address an epidemic?

Some people. I guess it was my fault in thinking that many households like mine growing up had parents that gave them good financial advice. Sorry to have confused you.
You're applying different reasoning to people and corps at the same time. You say they need to act like people and save yet say many people didn't learn how. Which one is the standard?

I tune in and they are kinda maddening to watch. He reads prepared statements with facts then makes off the cuff remarks after each one. Those usually consist of either a brag, insult or both. Some are actually good and some remind you of the guy at the 30yr reunion asking if you remember his touchdown.
I watched my first coronapresser last night, I asked lilreb, "are we learning anything from this?" Solid no.

Also, many actual corporations will run a zero profit to avoid paying additional taxes. If a corporation is showing that profit and saving it, then they will be taxed on it.

The “mama should have taught you better” argument could be used to abolish most any government program.

As I've found out myself, that doesn't mean its not true.

Anytime you want to tell me why you thought my comment on our friends from SotB was interesting, Id be interested in why.
I just thought it was an interesting comment.

I assume you mean workers from south of the border...

Corporations are operated by…people. Standard? Each of us have a different standard and I was just sharing mine.
