Given that they’re projections, during a chaotic time, and that a drop in projected deaths would inspire happiness instead of suspicion for like 99% of people, I don’t think they’re spending too much time worrying about the backlash they’ll get for good news

No, not problem solved. These are the experts, this is what they are trained to do and they have failed miserably. And those failings will lead to immense pain for millions of people. You dont just get to throw some BS against the wall and hope everyone forgets about it.

The freaking pandemic will lead to immense pain for millions of people. Projections aren’t the culprit, unless you’re still suggesting we should have just left everything open
