Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

A couple of pages back someone was talking about truckers that are driving across this nation in making deliveries. I heard on talk radio this morning that a lot of places on the interstates where they have places to stop & use the restrooms are closed down. I really haven't thought about that problem. So I guess for some they go in a cup or an empty coffee can.

It’s literally called a pizz bottle and yes it’s used . Never ever drink out of bottle in a truck that doesn’t click when you twist the cap off . 😉

You asked for a comment from Cuomo? The point is the people are likely considered "essential" and this is how New York is getting around, as far as I know.

If your point is, should there be more masks and protective gear for those essential people? I'd say you have a good point. If your point is that they should be taking advantage of the streets being clear to have cabs or buses running, I'd say you might have a good point. If your point is that you don't believe these people are essential workers, I couldn't tell you for sure.

I asked what you would like to hear from Cuomo.
Him taking responsibility for his state not being prepared rather than laying it on Trump and the federal government. Everyone, and I'll include Trump in this, should own their blame and stop playing pass the buck. Governors are just as guilty of being ill-prepared as the federal government. IMO, moreso. The federal government has to consider 50 states. Governors are only responsible for one.

Most of the blame in New York rests with de Blasio who kept schools opened and encouraged people to go out on the town.

Edit : I’ve seen a lot of elaborate devises that keeps you from having to pull over to pee . The craziest was a hose that went down to a hole drilled in the floor and a funnel on one end .

I want forget the scene in "dumb & dumber" where the policeman pulled the guys over for speeding. Spotted beer bottles on the floor & drank from one & started to twitch & jerk......things people come up with in movies.

Had nothing to do with the conversation, until your segue into it. Unless you think the federal stockpile shouldn't be shared... why won't they just leave Donald alone!!

Doesn't NASCAR have something the drivers wear all during the race for them to go...?

9/11 sparked the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. I wonder if this leads to the creation of a new agency.

Your final comment was what we'd like to hear from Cuomo. That's what I answered. He could easily say he screwed up when he didn't go ahead and purchase those extra ventilators a few years back, but he won't. Nope, has to be Trump's fault.

So just "tough love" from Donnie?

DiBlasio just says Trump should do something.

Its not a surprise. DiBlasio and Cuomo's responsibilities lie with NY and NYC. Both have become the focus of the country and even the world in some cases for the explosion of cases and issues. Reality is they were woefully prepared for this and will that will be a focus in the future as this thing settles down.

On March 1, New York had its first reported case.
There is no cause for surprise -- this was expected. As I said from the beginning, it was a matter of when, not if there would be a positive case of novel coronavirus in New York," Cuomo said.
He assured New Yorkers that the general risk in the state "remains low."

On March 6, Cases had jumped to 44
"I'm not urging calm. I'm urging reality," he said. "I'm urging a factual response as opposed to an emotional response." - Cuomo

The next day, March 7, Cases reach 89 and a state of Emergency is declared.

The back and forth rhetoric right now is about setting the political table for that time and getting out the early ideas that this was on someone else.

So a virus that has attacked pretty much the whole world is racist? Right.......

So is she saying that minority communities deserve more purely because they are minorities? Isn’t that kind of racist?
No white people are dying because we are all rich and have insiders who give all of us the special drugs and treatment

It should lead to an overhaul of the CDC.

There are clearly massive coordination and planning issues to be fixed. I don't know if that's a Trump incompetence issue or failure of existing structures. Probably a bit of both.
