You gonna get out there and pick lettuce when you get laid off?

If the price is right, yeah.

Then you should be happier than a hog in slop with all of these worker visas being issued.

Depends on how much you are willing to pay for the goods. I live next to tomato fields and I'm not doing it for what they are willing to do it for.

Yeah, the wages they earn go so much farther in their home country vs. here. Out of curiosity, do you have a ballpark on what they’re getting paid?

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see the .gov get rid of all farm subsidies, price controls and let agriculture be a completely free market. The majority of our population wouldn't but I'd be ok.

Haha, yea, I believe most are fooling themselves if they think they'll go out there and work side by side 10-12 hours a day 7 days a week with the immigrant workers I know.....for any amount.

It is a big damn deal to Trump. How much do you think he profits when he spends a week at the "Winter White House" Mar a Lago?
How does any politician profit from their position? The gripe is legitimate, but in one form or another all politicians do this.

For me it would take being on the edge of starvation or $100 plus an hour to ever get me back in a tobacco field.

I think this discussion started about Trump giving up his salary. I'm just not so willing to use that as a reason Trump is somehow superior to any president who didn't. Ole Donnie already saw the fat stacks during the transition when the money was rolling in to Trump Tower.
