Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

We all know it’s small in the scheme of things. Just hate to see kids miss out on things they’ve looked forward to.
I told my youngest who has a baby and another on the way that she'll have one hell of a story to tell her kids. These are unusual times.

Trump just declared war on drugs coming from our southern border. President Trump triggers enhanced counter narcotic operations, involving the Navy, combat ships and Coast Guard cutters
Does this feel a little out of the blue to you with them making this forceful of an announcement at what is typically the Coronavirus update?

Just think of all those tuxedos just sitting there in the mall, as lonely as a would-be teen mom on cancelled prom night.

Nah, it sucks, but I'll be damned if i can remember much from a prom.

I don't think it's ever been touted as a cure. It purportedly makes the symptoms more mild and quickens recovery, with the big alleged benefit being less time (or better yet, no time) in the hospital.
That is why I used the word mitigates instead of cures.

So, which drugs exactly? Was planning on listening to some albums and stuff.
It's all tied to Venezuela and the DOJ.

The bigger the bust the better the boost.

To a certain extent I get what you are saying...but the national media should hold itself to a higher standard. Some of this reporting is just shy of National Enquirer tactics to report the facts. For instance, just say Florida testing results in 7,000 more confirmed cases. Why say it as "Florida cases surge by 7,000"? Why use Italy footage for NY hospital reporting (I don't buy the editing mistake, or the apology if they woudln't have been caught)? Why report 200K will die, with no context on timelines, assumptions, model limitations, etc?

It would be easier to take them seriously if they took the net ratings/revenue bump they are getting from this and donated it to relief funds or research. Otherwise, just the facts without the grandstanding should be the standard.

The Italy footage was a mistake. They have admitted that. If you think it was intentional I'd want to know the basis.

As to the phraseology, sure, but that's my point. They are going to use language which gets people.to watch. Not ideal. But experience shows that the American people don't watch PBS news.

Serious question: Has anyone heard any updates on whether the anti-malaria cocktail is having good continued success? I know there was the preliminary study out of France saying it worked well and there's the Hasidic doctor in Brooklyn who is anecdotally touting good results. Just wondering if we have any more studies out yet.
The Doctor in NY I find a little hard to believe, he's saying he's treated almost 900 people if I'm not mistaken. A few things here
1. Where did he get access to enough meds for 900 people when Cuomo put a hold on it.
2. Were these patients truly sick with coronavirus
3. Isn't he working out of a shopping mall?

I hope this med combo is working but I just have a hard time believing the Doctor in NY.

I could hazard a guess as to why they have announced this now and in this format, but I don't think anyone seriously doubts what that was about.

If it's the same one I saw on tv the other day, on Fox I believe, he seems a little sketchy.

Yeah, that's the one. All of his claims seem very odd and I just don't trust it. I also don't trust any reports coming out of China about their miracle flu drug that cures the rona in 4 days. I'm hopeful some real information will come out soon and give everyone hope.

Have you seen the story of Jim Sintilli? Very good story not a source for data as it pertains to continues success but a powerful story

If China has a real CV-19 cure, I'm guessing they'd sell it for the low price of one stimulus check.
