She was tested last friday after experiencing symptoms (fever and sore throat) they tested for flu and c-19. The results came back this morning. Idk if she was tested at the hospital or at the drs office.

If it’s the usual test, it’s a nasal swab inserted a bit farther up the nose than anyone wants.

Swabbing mucous membranes is a common way to test for respiratory diseases. Strep throat, etc.

I’m sure there are more sophisticated tests (blood tests for antibodies etc), and all tests have some false positives and false negatives.

They’re actually pretty cool. They are made from a pattern issued by the cdc.

Can you ask @Red13 if this looks like the pattern that she is using? And has she heard about sewing masks that have a single inner layer, allowing for a coffee filter cut to shape to be inserted?

She was tested as vnx predicted. As far as what she has.. no determination. Could be bronchitis, pneumonia, ... they are treating it with antibiotics.
