A pattern is emerging...

The beginning of the press conference he is okay. Not great, but okay. When he gives information, that is helpful. He usually throws in a pat on the back to himself, which is annoying, but its him.

The experts speak and that's good. Often very helpful and useful.

Then Pence, who comes across as perhaps the least sincere person of all time, comes up and says some platitude or two, contributing nothing of value. He is so schamltzy and fake its disgusting.

Then Trump comes back up to spend the next 30 minutes and alternately congratulates himself with no justification, insults anyone who dares ask him a tough question, suggests vague conspiracies to distract, and then circles back to congratulate himself again.

Usually lasts 60-90 minutes, of which 10 has any real value.

If we are doing tit for tat. Trump wanting to cut funding for CDC budget by 80% and elimiating his pandemic office outweighs anything that Congress didn't do

I think they believe that the hotspots are going to spread throughout the country. I live in Virginia and we have 1k cases so far but we aren’t expected to hit peak until end of May so evidently we are just getting started. We are definitely getting a jump in more cases each day and it’s only going to keep jumping. Also Got to look at hospitals as far as running out of space and supplies. The US new cases rises everyday we had close to 25k today. Hope I’m wrong as I have family with asthma and respiratory issues

Was it a real cut (actual reduction in budget); a cut to the projected growth or a proposed version of either of those which was in his budget presented to Congress?

Main one, by far, is testing. He should have been all over that and instead continues to mislead with the claim we are testing more than anyone, when comparatively we are far behind. Distancing earlier. Use or threat of use of DPA much earlier to get ventilators made. Recommend closing non essential businesses earlier.

Its also his demeanor and how his lackadaisical attitude has 1) led his followers to not take it seriously, thereby spreading the disease through inaction and inattention to the facts; 2) given cover to Republican Governors to fail to act responsibly.

Trumps proposed cuts didn't happen, Congress supplemented the funding.

The man should be kissing some congressional butt.

Everyone wants the numbers to go down, for this to be over, and for the country and the world to get back to a state of normalcy.

One can still really want that, as I do, but loathe Trump even more for his role in poorly handling it.
