Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

He's bragged about more ventilators pretty much every day from what I've seen. Can't we just be thankful that he and other groups are stepping up in getting NY more ventilators and leave the partisan bickering out of this for now? Let's all join together as Americans and win this war

We can do both. We can be very grateful to those stepping up to produce and supply them.

We can also point out that this is occurring despite Trump repeatedly downplaying the risks and his leader Dr. Birx whining yesterday that the warnings about not having enough ventilators is unjustified. "Right now."

She was put up to it to say that by Trump and his slurpers. You know she was. We have enough ventilators -- "right now." There is no need to be worried about overcrowded hospitals -- "right now."

BS. The press is absolutely spreading the story about ventilator shortages. Could there be a shortage in the future? Sure, maybe. But there isn’t right now and reality on the ground says there probably won’t be.

Every time someone posts about death rates and ventilators I want to bang my head against the wall. There is no context and no explanation about how accurate those numbers are. There just isn’t LG, and the intellectual dishonesty you want to harp about with this administration is happening in spades with the constant tweets from the sensationalists and headlines from the MSM.

I’m not a fan of Trump or his administration. I think they are a bunch of yes men to a glorified reality star with an ego complex. However what the press and social media is doing right now is just as dishonest if not worse.

That was "Fake News Justin" that posted it, but lilreb has been running with the wrong crowd.
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way.

I was not intending to impugn @0nelilreb honesty.

He can’t stop people from fabricating tweets and I think if he could he probably would, and I know he wouldn’t have used it if he had known.

I was talking more on a meta level that there’s unquestionably an element of the Trump movement that handles the online gaslighting and dishonest editing of video and fabrication of tweets. Just like there’s the Bernie Sanders wing on the left.

What I was saying is the left pretty thoroughly shut their clowns down, for now, in this primary. If Republicans would do that (or if Democrats weren’t doing it) I think the distinction of who is the bigger dumbass would carry more weight.

Ya, I was just poking and making some fun, of course.

But you can't blame some for feeling like they need an ammo drop.

One ventilator, two patients: New York hospitals shift to crisis mode

On Thursday, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Association for Respiratory Care and four other practitioner groups issued a joint statement saying the practice “should not be attempted because it cannot be done safely with current equipment.”
It is difficult enough to fine-tune a ventilator to keep alive even one patient with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), the statement said; sharing it across multiple patients would worsen outcomes for all. They proposed doctors instead choose the one patient per ventilator deemed most likely to survive.

Wrong. You and anybody else presenting numbers are extrapolating out based on model predictions.

Reality based on latest numbers has dramatically changed predictions as we find out more:

Prof Who Predicted 500K UK Deaths Now Says Under 20K Will Die, Peak In Two Weeks

That guy over-predicted the number, and from that you conclude that all of the other models are also wrong?

Sounds like MLB will resume spring training in May and the season is slated to start June 1. Not sure if or when fans will be able to attend, also sounds like the playoffs will be expanded to 14 teams

I love baseball but have always felt a 162 game season is way too long. Half of the teams are out of the playoff race by the the Fourth of July.

And, your point?

Dr. Craig Smith, surgeon-in-chief at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in Manhattan, wrote in a newsletter to staff that anesthesiology and intensive care teams had worked “day and night” to get the split-ventilation experiment going

Read past the sensational headline. This is an experiment being done in case it’s needed, not because it is needed.

This is exactly the kind of chicken-**** crap being peddled around that needs to stop. It’s rank with being agenda driven.
