Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

We’ve been through this before Luther. The preamble has no basis in law, how many ****ing times do you have to be told?
Hell, I think his interpretation of the Preamble is off anyway. Nothing about the Preamble suggest it is okay for the government to step in and forcibly strip citizens of their rights. That doesn't insure domestic tranquility, nor does it secure the blessings of liberty. In fact, it strips the citizenry of liberty. Common defense refers to enemies, not ourselves. The only real question, IMO, lies in how you interpret "promote the general welfare". There's a big difference between "promoting" and forcibly acting.

All of that said, it's probably best to follow the governments recommendations, but that is what they should be, recommendations. When they start issuing orders to make it mandatory, that is overstepping the Constitution. And there's nothing wrong, IMO, with those who want to follow the government guidelines and in touting their effectiveness. The problem is in not recognizing that making it mandatory rapes the Constitution. Our FFs fought against this type of behavior.

So, Boris Johnson has the virus, I'm wondering how long until the "Keep calm, and get back to work." mantra shifts to "Seriously, where's the damn hand sanitizer?"

It's time-- long past time -- for a 14 day national stay at home order. It is inevitable and the longer we wait to do it more people will needlessly get sick and more will die.

You're already sick.

It's so weird that elderly sick people could get a respiratory illness and die. Quick, panic.

Hog go out and lick handrails at chik fil a as far as I care. Let them shoot you as far as I care. They can rape your coronavirus corpse after that, and I would not care about you.
How tolerant of others are you, really?

Asking for a friend.

That's cool, but I'd feel better if hand sanitizer and gloves and masks weren't like looking for a factory error action figure.
That’s what happens when people panic.... they hoard the equipment like crazy..... last week, I was talking about us throwing away mask over and over again.... yesterday they changed policy to wearing the same mask all day long....decision making makes zero sense out here in the field.

Man, I've heard some stupid sht. I might catch more crap for not saying which facility, but one particular ward an a local hospital has the (maybe unoficial) policy of not wearing a mask around suspected COVID patients, as not to make them nervous.

In the same boat my friend. I walk around a different empty restaurant every day. I am haunted by the missing employees faces. The missing guests. They need me in my restaurants working until we hopefully recover. But it’s like working in a morgue. I come home depressed every day. Being away from them is easier. I am working on my days off and can mentally handle the numbers. But in the business it’s the saddest thing I have ever seen.

What's your roll with the restaurant group?

I believe it..... decisions being made make zero sense.

It promotes the general welfare, as in limiting the spread of a potentially lethal virus.

Ahh the altruism and empathy of democrats on display here. Lol
Empathy is something one would show by not spreading the virus. The lack of empathy is on full display by anyone pounding the constitution about "their" rights.

I'm very tolerant at 6 feet. Get closer and not so much.
