Hell, I think his interpretation of the Preamble is off anyway. Nothing about the Preamble suggest it is okay for the government to step in and forcibly strip citizens of their rights. That doesn't insure domestic tranquility, nor does it secure the blessings of liberty. In fact, it strips the citizenry of liberty. Common defense refers to enemies, not ourselves. The only real question, IMO, lies in how you interpret "promote the general welfare". There's a big difference between "promoting" and forcibly acting.We’ve been through this before Luther. The preamble has no basis in law, how many ****ing times do you have to be told?
All of that said, it's probably best to follow the governments recommendations, but that is what they should be, recommendations. When they start issuing orders to make it mandatory, that is overstepping the Constitution. And there's nothing wrong, IMO, with those who want to follow the government guidelines and in touting their effectiveness. The problem is in not recognizing that making it mandatory rapes the Constitution. Our FFs fought against this type of behavior.
