Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

So Alabama can do it. But here in Williamson County, the richest county in TN and top 15 in the country, our kids get nothing.

My kid’s district is doing it. I don’t know about the rest of the state. Only direction statewide is to close schools.

No one wants a meltdown or a downturn. It is possible to root for the country to get through this and to simultaneously realize that Trump is a hurdle to that.

Luther specifically said an economic downturn would be worth it to oust Trump. His words.

The WHO and general public disagree with your assessment of Trump being a hurdle.

This is your last bar to hang on to.

Even early on people realized the death toll predictions were absurdly wrong. So it became , flatten the curve, hospital capacity, etc.

What utter ********. You people are disgusting. The record poverty will be on your hands..

Did he say he hoped for it, or that it would be worth it? I mean I don't hope for my truck to spontaneously combust, but It might end up being worth it if the replacement is more to my suiting.

If you’ve seen several of my posts throughout the day you would see that I am not fishing for likes. I made a post earlier you commented on another posters comment about said post with criticism about my data/agenda. All I was asking was for a rebuttal so you could explain to me where I went wrong. I ask this of my employees: if you criticize me please back it up with examples/data that’s all I was asking.

You provided data that showed you weren’t understanding the point I was trying to get across and I responded.

If you want to talk about data let’s talk about data. If you want to resort to motive attacks I’m sorry I won’t play that game.

I apologize for the jab about likes. I must have misunderstood your original point. I thought you were claiming the CDC posted data that would support a death rate of 2+% for the flu. They certainly do not. They provide source data used in a calculation based on years of observation for seasonal influenza that settles on their estimated value. At this point, we have nowhere near the data on this new coronavirus to provide anywhere near the confidence in the projection.

As much as we like apples to apples comparisons, one does not yet exist due to the lack of data. Hundreds of millions, if not billions, of flu cases have been tabulated over decades. We have hundreds of thousands of cases of coronavirus that have been observed over months. Those two don't equate. The video posted earlier of Dr. Birx makes that point much more eloquently than I can, and I think that she provides a very optimistic outlook on the re-evaluation of the estimation methods used for coronavirus.

Again, my apologies for misconstruing your original point. The good news is that I'm not one of your employees. Let's be honest, you couldn't afford me.

he said it would be worth it. his last post on the subject said he isn't hoping for it and I take him at his word.

on the "is it worth it" I would just suggest that it entails realized suffering for a large number of people in return for speculation that it will reduce their future suffering by a greater amount. A difficult proposition.

FWIW, the first ten amendments were not part of the original Constitution. In fact, many of the framers (at least in what they wrote) were reluctant to include the BOR, claiming to fear that the government would have to protect only the rights listed--a very narrow definition of liberties--hence the reason for #9.

Perfect plan. The only way to help when record poverty is pervasive???

...if you guessed Federal programs, you're correct.

I would hope so. Everything needs a foundation and rationale on which to be built.
But back to my question. Why was the Constitution created?
In Order to ........

yes and in Hitler's mind Mein Kampf was about "In Order to". It's the bits that come afterwards that make all the difference.

Many districts are doing it. Heck, the Franklin city school district that the county district surrounds is doing it. But Williamson County Shools are run by a guy who has no experience in education, so they're not trying to educate.

Maybe, in his perfect scenario, the economy was subsequently so great that everyone lived happily ever after.

That's what I choose to believe.... and only the worst strawmen suffered, but just a little.
