Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I’ve got his 10 covered with my family members alone. It’s one of the top 5 reasons we've been actively looking at acreages large enough to support multiple family dwellings for the past few years. Getting our hippie on and disconnecting from crazy.
Until you found out that you are the crazy

Trump plan calls for classifying coronavirus risk county by county

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump on Thursday laid out his vision for what he called the “next phase” in the war on the coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping the country.

In a letter to the nation’s governors, Trump said he and his administration planned to develop criteria to “help classify counties with respect to continued risks posed by” the deadly coronavirus. He said the use of “robust surveillance testing” will allow local governments to track the spread of the virus.

Counties would be divided into three low, medium and high “risk” levels, the president wrote. These categories will be accompanied by “new guidelines for state and local policymakers to use in making decisions” about whether to maintain, decrease, or increase their social distancing guidelines.

It makes no sense to paralyze an entire nation over 4 or 5 “hot spots”.

No I think it’s actually 24 weeks (correction to my earlier 23). That confused me at first as well.

When they say week 11, they mean week 11 of the year. They record flu seasons starting in week 40. So 13 weeks in 2019 and then the 11 weeks of 2020.

You're correct the number of positive specimens was over a 23 week period so the death rate would be the same but the infection rate would be significantly lower per week which would kind of validate my assumption that the Corona Virus is spread at a significantly higher rate than the flu.

No. I'm at the office. Being careful and using lots of sanitizer, but not doing anything panicky. I'm just paying attention and when Trump tells me one thing but the scientists and professionals tell me another, I tend to go with the advice of the latter.
So do I, that's why I don't need to watch the pressors briefing.

You ever live out in the country ? They know what goes on in the large cities and again, the very reason they choose not to live there . Rural Americans doesn’t mean ignorant of their surroundings, I would argue right now they would / could be the ones saying the “ city folk “ are the ignorant ones . See the argument ?
City people are 'woke' however. And educated. and enlightened. So shut up hillbilly, gubbamint knows what's best for you

We are getting one meal out a day (drive through of course) to do our part. Today was Arby's.
There is a small family owned Italian restaurant down the street that is selling make your own pizza packs. Thought it was a great idea. That's the Friday night plan.

I was talking about in general not this particular situation.

The coronavirus is a threat because it is very adaptive, It mutates. It will pass but the goal is to build up a societal immunity to this strain, be it nature or vaccines. Until a vaccine is developed., all of us can help minimize the spread and the loss of life.

Eldest child has previously teleworked while she was home sick.

She’s immunocompromised and has formally requested a reasonable accommodation to telework under an ADA disability and is awaiting a response from HR after an earlier informal request got blown off by the company nurse. I’m not a litigious person but you can bet your butt if her request gets denied again and she catches this at work, I’m going after them full bore. Especially after them finally sending home someone today in her sector who’s been in close contact with a confirmed case.

They could just fire her If she lives in a right to work state.

I understand we need to help local businesses but how are drive through restaurant's, pickups, deliveries sanitized? The person shoving a sack of burgers out the window has just made contact with 50 other customers. They're not tossing their gloves after each transaction. They are protecting themselves not the customer. Not to mention what's happening in the prep area. Pizza delivery? Officials have stated the virus can live on cardboard for several hours. How is any of this wise?
