Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Are you really that simple? In a health crisis, the President should not tout any specific drug until it is tested. He should say we are testing drugs that could be promising. No one in their right mind would specifically name a possible cure except for a dumba$$ trying to look like he's in control of a situation.

Through the magic of transcript, we can read what was said during the Mar 19 presser, rather than settling for a sensationalized snippet: Remarks by President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force in Press Briefing | The White House

Chloroquine, remdesivir, and other treatments have been in the news for weeks prior to Trump, Hahn, and Fauci speaking about them in the presser. In fact, in the day prior brief on Mar 18, a reporter asked Birx about chloroquine.
John: (01:09:10)
Questions for Dr. Birx, if I could? Dr. Birx, French researchers have had some luck with hydroxychloroquine in shortening the duration of disease. Is that something that might be in the arsenal therapeutics here in the United States?

Deborah Birx: (01:09:25)
I think we are exploring every one of those issues. The president asked for a critical briefing on that today. He opened with that. It is more than that single drug. There are other drugs that individuals are looking at. Just to go back to what we talked about many times, there is things that look really good in cell culture against the virus that may look good in small animals, and then don’t have an impact in humans. And so those are the pieces that we’re looking at very carefully. Of course, there’s always anecdotal reports, and we’re trying to figure out how many anecdotals reports equal real scientific breakthroughs.

In your vast pandemic management experience, why would you not address something that is increasingly circulating in the public?

It's a valid question. Guess he needs something to do during fox and friends commercial breaks
It isn't. He is always on twitter. It doesn't effect his time (unfortunately) to govern. It's the same as complaining about the presidents' chronic golf games.
I wish we could find a legitimate distraction which prevented "leaders" from spending money they don't have and passing laws we don't need.

no, I'm not concerned with anyone liking my post. This forum is mostly populated with those who label themselves conservatives but really aren't which is why my post went in that direction. That and the fact you incorrectly and lazily labeled me a liberal

The people you mention don't like my posts when discussion is around economic policy or constitutional issues (but neither do you're conservative buddies when we talking about things like cutting spending. Weird huh?). They ironically like my posts when I make fun of the current dem in office.

So, my original statement that likes mean nothing stands. It is very obvious when you pay attention
I am not concerned with anyone liking my post even though I know who likes each kind of post I make.

It does when he's surprising people/departments with policy decisions.

Honestly he just comes off as small, petty and a bully on Twitter. Not really that much better live either but it's his choice I guess

So if you choose not to vote then you will not get paid to vote ?

Means most opportunist Republicans get paid at least twice, per address. Most others are told to come back in a week... Same applies to a small degree to some opportunist Dems, I guess.

Why is he on Twitter at all? If you were an investor in company X, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, would you be cool with the CEO of the company tweeting away instead of devoting 100% of his efforts to saving the company?
It is his chosen media connection to people. Wide audience. Presidential record n all that good stuff, he chooses to kabitz this way.
Why are any gov officials on Twitter...outreach.

I see your point. If Trump hadn't been grandstanding, trying show his infinite wisdom by repeating "Chloroquine" incessantly, being all like 'you heard it here first folks"... that man quite simply wouldn't be dead.

Well, no, since chlorquine et al has been in the news for weeks. Trump and response team spoke on it during the Mark 19 presser. In fact, in the presser on Mar 18, a reporter asked Dr. Birx about the media reporting on the drug.

If the couple had bothered to see what was actually said in either presser, both would be alive with their guts intact.
I prefer to honor them as Americans who tried to disinfect the gene pool.
