Another good one...
Obama logs on amid the coronavirus pandemic — NBC News

From the article....
“A source close to the former president said Obama wants to be sharing "public health messages that people need to be seeing and hearing and understanding" at this time.

"First and foremost, his priority has been to push out important public health messages that he feels people need to learn and understand because this is a complicated issue and a lot of the science is counter-intuitive," this person said. "So he wants to make sure people have access to good information."

I’m not so sure what is counter-intuitive that Obama needs to explain...the more people that get it, the more people they can expose.

It’s also nice that he can take the unbalanced stance that we should fall completely on the “health and welfare” side of the equation without regards anymore to the economy. I guess the economic boom of the last three years wasn’t his to protect after all.

Limit the House to 4 terms and the Senate to two. If someone manages to serve those 8 years as a Rep and 12 years as a Senator to get to 20 years in the federal govt, then I'm okay with some kind of pension.

All of it , the simple audacity of congress to try and pull off their favorite lobbyists agendas right now is over the top . To try and sneak in something under the table that you can’t get passed out in the open is some more of that politician/ lawyer bullsh!t and the reason why never trust any of them and I don’t give a damn what party it is . Fkin crooks , thieves and liars . Every last one of them .
I wonder why we haven't seen a post like ^^^^^ this^^^^^ from one of the resident lefties?

No, they make enough to figure it out on their own for their own retirement. $174,000/year. They want a pension, then reduce pay to that of the median American annual salary/earnings, and keep the pension.

You are spot on with the limits and terms.

If this were a novel or a movie, it would be panned as too unbelievable.

Me? I can't wait for the sequel. "This time it's for real."

The ability to buy and sell stocks from insider knowledge isn't enough of a pension?

I've thought about that sequel. Has some boy that cried wolf scenarios to it. Maybe not, perhaps there will always be this massively amount of ignorant participants.

I hear you support the biggest crook and liar in DC. Don't give us your false indignation when you are constantly defending Trump and his mountain of lies.

If politicians actually did what they were supposed to do, I would view their service as akin to military service. That's why I would be okay with some type of pension if they reached 20 years. But they'd have to reach that 20 year mark. That would be harder to do, IMO, if they had to spread it out among the two chambers of Congress, with set term limits.

Screw that. No more than 10 years total in my opinion. No pension either. Not only that, but their staff must be replaced entirely as well after 10 years on the government payroll. The problem isn't always with idiots sitting in the seats, it's the staff that's been there 20, 30 and 40 years that moves from office to office. The Senators and Representatives aren't as smart as you give them credit for and are easily swayed by staffers that make a profession out of manipulating these whores into voting a certain way. They have to go as well or the cycle will never be broken.

You want a pension after 20 years of service to this nation? Join the military.

They don't get to vote for pay raises for themselves either. That goes on the general ballot every Presidential election year and let the American people decide how much they deserve to make.
