Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

No way in heck would I sign something requesting the .gov to place everyone under house arrest.

They ain't worried about rebels like you. The logic being that most folk would take it more seriously. Kind of like the opposite of a mandatory hurricane evacuation.

There was a kid my age a couple houses down. We were within walking distance to that pool cutting thru the end of the subdivision. Been there several times. Heck our grandfathers could have been at TVA same time. But mine retired probably early 80's. Best I can recall, he was 85 range in 2000 when he died. He was also a retired Navy Cpt. Ceebee in the pacific. The subdivision used to have community picnics like at the 4th all the way in the back in the last cul de sac. We'd go occasionally if there at right time. They had couple families in same subdivision that were close friends. they always trout fished with us. Dan Cobble and his pipe. for some reason that man always fascinated me. Cool old dude I guess. My dad taught my granddad trout fishing up in citico when he started dating my mom. Grandpa loved taking us when we came up. It was a thing. always thought he was the master trout fisherman. Dad never said a word. He just let the bond happen. Didn't know till late teen years that he's the one who taught my grandpa. Great memories though like you said. too many to list, most just little things.

That was my neck of the woods too, growing up. Paper route in Colonial Village where I lived, attended Young High School 1969-72 (before it was replaced with a Kroger) right on Chapman Hwy.

That's the problem. The statement from
Dr Denneny and Dr Smith request the lockdown. Then the language in the actual petition asks for social distancing. The petition was put up by someone other than the doctors. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I have found in my experience, that people with good intentions often get manipulated by those with not so good intentions.

That’s ok. Nothing wrong with being white (except in the liberal world view) or being a patriot (ditto)...

Please, If I could count the times I"ve heard someone claim that another person wasn't a patriot, merely because they disagree with some aspect of a political ideology...

"Patriots" aren't what they used to be. And tea hasn't had anything to do with it, in hundreds of years.

The first is the petition cover page. The second is the actual petition.

Point well-taken, but the "Petition to Urge "Shelter in Place" Order: COVID-19" request to sign made it unequivocally clear what they are advocating.

"Please consider adding your name to the petition if you agree that a state-wide lockdown is needed now."

No one who disagrees with this or the title should have signed the petition.

I don't have a horse in this race, though. I don't envy the people having to make these decisions. A one-size-fits-all statewide mandate probably doesn't make sense, but what do I know?

What makes this more funny, I'm gonna cut my own hair today. I'm no barber, so it'll pretty much be a close shave 😆

I was to get my haircut this morning @ 11 am but the mayor has closed all these important places down.
I suppose I'll just shave my head & wait a couple of months to see what happens...pisses me off bigly.

I see what you are saying, but the HR vote already passed and should be under scrutiny by the public as it heads to Senate. We should be able to see bills if there are vote ready and brought to the floor.

Even todays vote was already voted on the floor, so it was a "final version" if it had passed. If we cannot see it until it passes, what is the point.
I'm mostly interested in why the dems are playing politics when America is in need. I realize they seldom, if ever, place America above their need for power and money.
