Then I post some statistics about your argument over a 70 year period and you argue that I'm cherry picking and that it is a bad analogy? My whole point is that it is an idiotic comparison! This is the horse you are beating.

Car crashes and coronavirus are only related in cases where, like what is happening in Italy right now, a crash crash patient who otherwise could be saved shows up at a hospital overwhelmed with corona patients and then can't get the help they need and dies. That death doesn't list under corona, but the patient would have been alive in a no corona health system.

Another reason this analogy is stupid is that we DO care about car crashes and the trauma they cause. The amount of scientist and engineering hours spent making cars safer is astronomical. We are at the beginning of this crisis and even the car manufacturers are starting to use their knowledge to help us out of this situation where we are so far behind the curve.

Which is why I brought up the time of exposure. We have adapted to car crashes, I bet there are far more now than earlier. But we have made them safer, fewer deaths. That is what I am saying will happen with corona. As we adapt we will be fine.

Has northern italy seen a rise in unrelated health care deaths? I would think with the shut down you balance it out.

I would imagine the panic here is far far worse than the number of beds required by actual sick. You going to get on to them? SK which is paraded as the best handler of this had a 96% negative test result rate. Seems like they did a lot of tests, stressing their system, for minimal actual cases.

People don't know how to react, which makes this far worse than it is.

It sounds like the gov't is giving out the money to try to save the seized economy. It's seized from people being told to say home, which is either an overreaction, or not. Again... You're begging the question into your premise.

Threatening reporters who ask legit questions about healthcare workers getting PPE or about details about bailouts isn’t exactly handling a pandemic well.

Handing out money to people too scared to leave the house and spend it isn't going to help.

Like dink said, no one has. I pretty much know where you stand on it. I understand most everyone's position, whether I agree 100% or not.


I obviously think its gotten a little out of hand, but wtf do I know? I'm just trying to take care of me and the girl, whom by the way is knee deep in all this (RN), and Im working with my Church to help a few folks out that need it.

I guess to mouth breathers thats "pulling for the collapse of the economy".
