Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Interesting. That's a 4 percent mortality rate. Now, it's still a high estimate because so many have it, or have had it, that we don't know about. But if we assume the number of cases is twice that, its still 2 percent.

To be comparable comparable to the flu, based on deaths and the flu's rate of 0.1 percent, the number of cases would have to be 40 times higher than known, or 8 million.

More news on the Japanese flu medicine that appears to be working on COVID 19.

Drug used to treat flu is 'clearly effective', Chinese officials say
I realize you are being political here, but just a question on how they got the vaccine/treatment got approved fairly quickly. Usually testing here takes 12-16 months to make sure there are no side effects down the road. I guess if you are in a condition where your choice is dying now or delaying it with the possibility of side effects you go with the latter.

Trump's "Right to Try" law passed last year. I wonder if that has accelerated clinical trials???

It was a pre-existing drug that was approved in 2014. It was not developed to treat coronavirus, but it appears to work on it.

Will he call it the "Chinese Cure"?

I am doubting that.
If he does, why would it matter? Wouldn't bother me or most people one bit. You realize we are in the middle of a worldwide virus outbreak with no known vaccine and some people are fixated and upset by others rightfully saying that this originated and was hidden by the Chinese Gov't.

For the life of me I can't understand hating the POTUS so much that they would side with Communist China for political points when not only worldwide personal health but also worldwide economic health is at stake.

So in 2020 I am gonna get my meds from a company that made film in 1980?

Sheesh.

This world really is crazy.

Well, might as well go and read some AT&T Batman and Superman comics since I am stuck at home.
Fujifilm also produces Xray film. They've branched into other medical endeavors for years.

Watched press conference. Most were good questions for President and task force. Then every third question or so was, “you don’t have great credibility with the American people, what do you...” or “do you think Chinese people are mad that you call it “Chinese virus.”

It was actually very informative.

It was just one trial, but it seemed to work pretty well and it's very safe (from what I've read), so crank that sh*t out and get it shipped around the world.
