How old are they? Hope they make it through ok.....This was posted on my facebook timeline:
Friends (IMPORTANT): A friend of mine, Dr. Kyle Abernathy, who is an elementary school principal in Floyd County (GA), posted this a few hours ago. I knew he and his wife had been sick with the flu, but it appears that it went into pneumonia, and now Covid-19. He and his wife April are both in quarantine at Kindred Hospital in Rome, GA. Please pray for both of them! Also ... wash your hands ... and stay away from large communal areas.
Please read Kyle's post:
From Kyle: I have tried to be quiet on social media and have enjoyed reading all of our friend's and families' posts for prayer. I am so encouraged and uplifted to know we have such a strong support team behind us. As of now, April and I remain hospitalized. She is critical but stable, requiring a ventilator and sedation. Her body needs strength. Please pray for this specifically. She is my bride and I miss her. I want to be able to see her when she's better.
I am on oxygen now 24/7. I have a hard time breathing without it and get very winded moving around. I basically just lie down all day to keep from having breathing problems and coughing fits. I am on fluids and lots of meds. The nurses at Kindred are angels.
As for the "C" virus, it is confirmed that both of us have it. But as quick as it came on us, it has to leave and bow down to the name of Jesus! Speak His name over our situation. We got the virus in a crowded place, no fault of anyone's! We never traveled. I even had a positive case of Flu A and both of us had pneumonia. To us, "C" virus wasn't an option. We washed our hands. Trust me, I always tell my three at home to wash up!
If you think the media is sensationalizing this, go ahead. But think about the 38-40 confirmed cases in GA, including us, before you check yourself "safe." This is an opportunity for us to pray, to lift each other up, and stay vigilant.
How many deaths from coronavirus is hard to say becuase we weren't testing for it.So 41 deaths since Jan 14 from corona.
8,200 flu deaths. But yea, it's a problem.
Why Is the Coronavirus Outbreak So Bad in Italy? Before the first case was reported, there was an unusually high number of pneumonia cases recorded at a hospital in Codogno in northern Italy, the head of the emergency ward Stefano Paglia told the newspaper La Repubblica, suggesting it is possible patients with the virus were treated as if they had a seasonal flu.
Were you given any medication? What did you do and comparable to the flu was it?
The average age of a patient that died in Italy is 81. Average. I never realized they have that many people that have lived so long. So, they have an older population, but a crappy healthcare system... Interesting
First diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection and given antibiotic. Got worse so they gave me steroids helped bring the fever down some but still had a ton of congestion and difficulty breathing. It took about a month and a second round of steroids to start feeling normal, sickest I’ve been in my life.
It's about the numbers AND the potential for it to continue to infect the most vulnerable. There is always alarm with infectious viruses. The alarm is to make people aware of the threat. People that dismiss it as some sort of media hoax do more harm. Better to be more safe than sorry. Part of the problem, is this time testing has been limited for months.....the true number of infections and deaths are not known. Politically speaking, fox news blared alarms 24/7 when President Obama was in office. From tan suits to grey poupon to bicycle helmets to Ebola.....Actually your post is a vague attempt to dismiss the question. How did the country-the Fed- and the media react to the last health epidemic/declared health emergency??? We know the answer, over 1000 Americans died prior to the declaration-and the media wasn't getting loose bowels over it-24/7. No, something is wrong with this situation, is it really about the numbers???

As for their healthcare I don't know. Was on xbox earlier with a buddy of mine that's a paramedic(here in the US). He said there's an age cutoff for respirators over there. If they run out of respirators, they start taking them off people over the age of 50 if someone under 50 needs one.
