I like how you ignore people who know more about this then you. And I am not talking about anyone on here. You should feel great that you feel like even if you are around sock people you should keep living life. It makes you the biggest DA on this forum. Was it a mild case for someone compromised or was it a healthy person with a mild case that developed serious complications

Ugh? One is predicting number infected. The other is predicting the number who die who are infected. All of them are more informed then you or I. They are on the same team. Oh by the way they are on team Trump.

And you have a quote where they each agree with the other's prediction. That would be the only way to make that a valid equation to propose.

I do not. But they are on the same task force. Lead by Pence. So maybe they aren’t and it’s just more proof that the admin is screwing this up.

It's terrifying just how far people will go when they're scared. COVID-19 is a real threat, but the way it has been covered by the media has led some people into that believing this is the end of the world, and their actions reflect that belief. My parents are both in their 60's, and I'm more scared about how the horrific actions of others may affect them than I am about how the virus might affect them.

The right way of going about this is to stay calm, stay home when you can, and conduct yourself like a decent human being should when you do have to go out for some reason.

Fair point. But you would assume all are qualified so everyone’s view has to be considered. You are mister DA who has no problem having someone whose been quarantined coughing in your mouth and heading out in the public. You need to look in the mirror. You are encouraging this to get worse. If you feel fine doesn’t mean your fine. And yes you should self quarantine if you have been around those suspected/ or diagnosed with it. You either struggle to understand exponential increase or the risk this poses to is because of the lack of health care when it’s crushed.

Very thin reporting - not much news, but a lot of pictures. Like a fancy Power Point presentation without the presentation. Problem with a component causing tests to be inconclusive - but no real comment on what it was and why. The CDC wants to be needed - got that, and maybe they are not as cutting edge as they want to be - got that, too. But then no mention of who manufactures the kits - government has no business in the manufacturing business, and they usually get the contracting part wrong, too. Did they use an incompetent low bidder, or did they go the emergency purchase route and fall for a marketing plan that was better than the production plan?

Of course, the other part is why are so many of our liberal base against how this was handled when they still believe, contrary to all evidence, that big government is the answer to everything?

This is the reality of 21st century America. It's a huge assumption to say that 175,000,000 will be infected. It's also ridiculous to think that they will all need respirators. Heck, many won't require hospitalization, and that's what I hope people understand about this.

If you're sick to the point of requiring medical attention, by all means go to the hospital. If all you have is a mild fever and a bit of a cough, ask yourself this: if COVID-19 didn't exist, would I go to the doctor if I had these symptoms, or would I stay home and rest up? If the answer is the latter, don't go to the hospital just for the sake of getting tested. Let those resources go towards people who are in serious condition.
