Blue font pleeze...As a country we must be willing to set politics aside. How can we dedicate all of our effort to combating this virus when we’re combating each other in an election year? Donald Trump must declare martial law and cancel the election. Anything less and he’s clearly not taking this virus seriously.
No more Russian hooker parties either...Trump's trying to downplay the virus to save his precious stock bubble he's blown for 3 years, but...
Everyone knows he's a germaphobe.
I'd wager he's gonna go in full lockdown mode now. No more handshakes, fewer trips, more Tweets. Plus some other really stupid stuff I can't even imagine... he's on it.
The orange boy's bubble officially popped today.
So hard to figure out a true death rate because the sample sizes are still pretty small in Western countries. That would be a 5.56% death rate in Italy.
I've been saying all along to pay attention to what happens in Western countries.

You are correct that the current numbers show a 5% death rate in Italy. In France, it's less than 2%. In Germany, they have just 2 deaths so far in over 1,100 cases. In the US it is 3.6%, and you can argue that is exaggerated because unfortunately it hit that nursing home in Washington really hard. I believe 16 of the 22 deaths in the US are related to the nursing home.
Globally the rate is about 3.5%, and almost all of those deaths are in people over 60.
It definitely isn't something to take lightly, but there's a difference between not taking something lightly and being hysterical. Some of the responses and fear towards this are more indicative of a virus that has like a 50% death rate or something. It seems likely that the death rate will be < 2 %, and concentrated in older people. But I have been reading from some otherwise healthy people who have it and it sounds miserable. Now, that may be due to all sorts of things, including how soon it was diagnosed, or maybe the one strain versus the other.
Still, it does not sound like anything to take lightly just because you probably won't die.
Don’t let the Trumpets try to tell you otherwise that only the elderly get this and die. It’s a nasty virus and has killed people under 40 as well and taken several young people to the brink of death. Yea you def want to survive it but it’s not just a severe cold either most of the people who recovered said they felt like they were dying. It seems likely that the death rate will be < 2 %, and concentrated in older people. IMO, the reactions and fear about this is almost all because of the novelty of it, not because of what it actually does to people.
