Zion has played in 17 games. He's averaging 24 points a game on extremely efficient shooting and he's 19 years old.

I figure we haven't seen "poor man's Shaq" best basketball yet.

Luka is 20, averaging 28.5 points a game, 9.5 rebounds a game (as a PG/SG) and 8.8 assists per game

Zion is ONLY scoring points, and doing it in a very limited way right now because his "move" is to bash into defenders and get a lay-up/hook shot. He's 6'6" and 285lbs, dude is going to be a bust if he doesn't get in better shape he doesn't rebound well enough to be a Barkley body.

I laft the other night when I saw the "highlight" of Zion bricking a wide open dunk. I mean it was a cinder block type of brick. Bwahahaha

Going to be a bust?!? He's averaging 24 per game as a 19 year old rookie on 60% shooting.

All I ask is the tiniest bit of perspective. Doncic is great but he can be great without Zion being a bust. Those two things are entirely unrelated.

The thing is the sports media pushes certain guys more, with LeBron it makes sense he is a once in a generation type of player.

Zion, I guess I'm not impressed yet. Would like to see him averaging more than 7 rebounds a game, if he's going to play inside that much. Cause he's not generating any steals or blocks thus far.

Ja should get ROY, dude is leading his team in scoring & assist. Also grabbing 3.5 rebounds a game. Plus he's only missed 6 games



Also slightly related, TSL had a "start, bench, cut" about PGs. In classic "don't know wtf we're talking about" Will & Tyler both cut Trae Young in favor of Ja Morant/Ben Simmons.

Don’t think Luka is the best. But definitely agree with the Zion point. Greek Freak is currently the best player in the league. JMO

Chemical, if you consider surgical stainless steel a chemical I agree, or even rust dull butter knife could be considered a chemical.

I am using my perspective though, do I need to tag it with IMO?

Zion at 6'6" 285lbs with a game similar to a throw back center (without the rebounding or height) will be a bust playing in this league if he doesn't develop the other aspects of his game and get in better shape. I mean hell, just getting into the 260s imagine how much MORE explosive he can be? It's obvious he's got some serious athletic ability...he's just still very raw and watching a guy like Luka in a "head to head" highlighted that.

24 a game at 19 at 58%+ from the field is impressive, but it's only a 17 game sample size... I'm just already over "Mt. Zion" blah blah from the sports media when far superior players are in the league getting no love.

I’m baseball circles, Boston is known to be the most racist of any town/stadium/fans. F anybody who says the South is racist. No friendlier place than the South, and every area has some dumb asshats.

I’m sorry that I missed the paper/plastic bag discussion. I wanted to provide my perspectives as a former industry insider.

You see, in the early 1990s I was a courtesy clerk (bag boy) at Food City on Kingston Pike to make money during high school. As I type that I think simultaneously - “the 90s wasn’t so long ago; Holy Crap that was almost 30 years ago!”

We bagged with 90% paper bags and it seemed unusual if someone wanted all their stuff in plastic.

It would be interesting to know the tipping point where that ratio inverted.

Anyways, that’s back when we actually carried people’s groceries out to their car and set them in their trunk.

I can’t even picture someone doing that at my local Kroger’s now. Heck, it’s hard enough to get an actual human being cashier.

* I had my wisdom teeth recently removed and am still eating oatmeal, yogurt and soups. Maybe that’s why I have temporarily slipped into an elderly curmudgeon mind state.
