A teacher in our county is home for 2 weeks self monitoring. They say it's just a precaution because they were out of the country in a low risk area. That was the official statement from the board of education. People are flipping out here though.

I don't think a doctor named is fake, it's the numbers are underreported but your DA knows that.

You and others can keep being complacent over this but the fact of the matter is your own selfish actions could wind up killing your parents, relatives or even yourselves.

No one claimed it was fake. But you are suggesting that people are claiming this only kills really old people. ABSOLUTELY no one has said that.

How are we being complacent? Do we have to be like you and post every new event to not be complacent? Is that how we save our loved ones?

I used to work with a guy that had been divorced 5 times, twice from the same woman. He took a lot of heat from coworkers but swore he would never get married again and used to say, "if I ever think about getting married again, I'm just going to find a woman I hate and buy her a house." The last time I saw him was after he retired at a restaurant and he introduced me to his new wife. Some guys never learn.

The WHO last reported it at 3.4%. That’s at least 10x higher mortality rate than the flu. It’s also more transmissable than the flu.

Yes, the flu kills tens of thousands each year and the total number of cases and deaths from covid-19 is not nearly that large yet. People who keep saying this to downplay the situation are missing the point though. We don’t want this to go into permanent circulation! We don’t need another, worse flu every year on top of the existing diseases. We need this to go the way of SARS and MERS.

I'm at the center of the outbreak and I'm not too worried about my family's health. But I am concerned that the response has been too lackadaisical on many levels and containment may soon be a lost hope.

Actually I really do love my wife, and in a few months we'll have been married 50 years. However, it's not always easy. To be honest my other house is to get out of town far far more than to take a break from my from my wife ... but it's always fun to say otherwise. She's definitely invited - I just can't get her to leave. Chattanooga - at least the suburbs have grown around us and kept going farther out - not acceptable to me - I hate congestion.

If she stayed away from tanning beds, doesn’t/never smoked, etc. she generally doesn’t need to spend money.

Then again, I’ve seen women in their mid to late-30s that look like they just came back from a combination Sturgis, Burning Man, and Walmart on Black Friday.

My wife can still do a bikini justice so I count myself lucky.
