Finally got around to watching "Once Upon a Time in America" yesterday. A dang near 4 hour mob epic. Had no idea the director was the same guy that made most of the greatest Spaghetti Westerns (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, other Eastwood classics). I've been on a big gangster movie kick for the past year, trying to watch all the revered classics. But I've never gotten into westerns.

Anyone have any gangster/mob/mafia movie suggestions or suggest a western to dip my toes into?
Goodfellas is the best mob movie ever and it’s not close.

Hey, I cut off the service I was using to monitor my alarm and need to find a replacement monitoring service. And, I simply refuse to believe that it is something that should cost more than $15/month. Any recommendations?

If you live in the Blount/Knox/Sevier area - Continental Protection in Maryville. Been with them for years with no increase in cost of $15/mo or one month free if you pay the year in advance. The monitoring service calls quickly if triggered.

Westerns:
Tombstone (obviously)
3:10 to Yuma (the remake with Ben Foster & Christian Bale)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Hell or High Water (it's a modern western, but so good)

Mob/Gangster/Mafia:
Donnie Brasco
Juice
Belly
The Departed
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Goodfellas
Gangs of New York

Minor quibble - 3:10 to Yuma is supposed to take place in southern Arizona, but is clearly shot in northern New Mexico. Great movie otherwise.

Most of VN googling like this before posting...
“Hip meme the kids are into nowadays”

CTL+C
CTL+V

I didn't take the time to learn or work in made up phrases from my own generation.
Not gonna bother doing so for the generation that seems to view English as a mere suggestion.

Never been to either place so I wouldn't know, interesting tidbit.

My advice don't look too deep into where movies are shot though, rarely do they get filmed where they're set.

Thanks. Brasco is next on my list. And now King of New York (thanks, Newt). Seent the rest, except Juice. I'll check that out.

Hell or High Water wasn't highly marketed, but man was it good.

Btw, re: Ga St game - unfortunately my dropbox ended March 1st. I thought I might have downloaded it to my HD, but apparently hadn't. There is a ~22m highlight video on YT that you could rip. Doesn't have all of JJ's catches that game, but some.

Truth. Motherlovin Hunger Games was supposed to be set in District 12 and was actually shot in Western North Carolina. I'm still upset and want my reparations.

As for westerns, check out Bone Tomahawk or The Proposition.

Vols' decommitments under Pruitt: Where are they now?

Not much production from the one's we didn't get outside of a few (Ingle, Henry)
Read that earlier and totally agree...almost all were recruited over and never found a comparable spot to land. Ingle was the only one that jumped out to me. Trey Dean too, but more because of coaching change. Think Pruitt would have taken him for sure.

And Harris, who wasn't a real decommit, just a casualty of grades. Really hope he swings back around to us this cycle. Some that saw him play were really, really, really high on him.

I got a soft spot for that area. I spent a lot of time down around Tombstone and Naco doing fieldwork, and dated an artist from Bisbee until I realized it's a bad idea to date an artist.

Juice was Tupac’s coming out party...not the gay variety.

First cases of Corona have hit Georgia. Came back from Italy...to whoever was asking about traveling there...

"In a news release on Monday, the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) said the two cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Fulton County and involved two people who live in the same household. One of the two had recently returned from Italy, which has experienced a surge of cases in recent weeks"

Ok, so no traveling to GA. Let the recruits know, people.
