1. Fulky.

2. Now, I need a list of people on this board who have spent 4 years saying that John Fulkerson would never be more than a minor role player on this team. C'mon all you basketball geniuses, speak up... Seriously, I was beginning to wonder if my original prognostication was a bit on the high side, but he is finally taking the lead role on this team. It is time that someone did.

3. Defense was obviously really good for a long time. Long enough, I guess. Hopefully, we can continue the trend for another week or two (or three?).

3. I don't know if this freshman filled team has many more big victories in them, but today was a big win if for no other reason than it was against the swamp critters. Another reason might be that we had a recruit or two watching.

4. Nice to see JJJ step up today. He can sure fill a stat sheet when playing good. Hopefully, much more to come next year.

5. It was scary to watch Fulkerson (yeah, him again) miss two front ends of one and ones, but he more than made up for it.

6. I saw one of the coaches mention it this week, and I had been thinking the same thing: It is interesting to compare this team to Coach Barnes' second team. A bunch of Freshmen who help win some big games, but just let enough games slip away to make it come up just a bit short in the win column.

7. Looking ahead, we get Fulky, Pons, JJJ, Vescovi, Gaines, and maybe Johnson back next year, along with the new Freshmen, and I think this team can make some real noise. I have really high hopes that Gaines, with his length and athleticism, can make a big jump next year (and every year he is here).

8. Bonus question: Who has the highest 3 point percentage in the nation today?

I’ve spent all this time trying to tell these schleps how good Fulky is. You have a lot of folks who don’t know squat about b-ball.

I think Johnson will be a grad transfer and I would like to see us take a grad transfer big to help out inside.

I'd rather have Johnson as a 5th year senior than bring in a transfer that has to instantly learn the system and get familiar with their teammates.
I agree with this because if we take a grad transfer big, I don't see them starting over Fulk or Pons and then if they come off the bench this will hurt ORN, Walker, and Uros development in my opinion.

We'll have 10 first or 2nd year players next year. I'd like to keep all 3 with 3/4 years in the system. If there are 11 of 13 1st or 2nd year players next year making the Sweet 16 will be the ceiling. Most likely an NCAAT run won't get past the 1st weekend.

Fulkerson and the defense carried the team today with James playing a solid first half.

UT has a chance to snap Kentucky's eight game winning streak Tuesday night.

If that team that won today shows up like that no doubt. If the team that has lost 12 games shows up no chance in hell.

We could use another big off the bench when we get pushed around inside. Auburn bullied us inside last week and Florida made their run today exclusively through Blackshear. Plus Victor Bailey Jr. is eligible next year. He has been practicing with the squad all year and is going to play a similar position as Johnson. We have plenty of wings next year and likely even if Johnson stays his minutes diminish.

Unless Tennessee can get a big off the transfer portal, I am good with Jalen Johnson playing next season.

Another player who I was wondering if the light would ever come on, but think he might a pretty good player by next year. Just any old transfer would not necessarily be better. I think we need his experience.

I am one and will admit it. If you watched Fulkerson play the last couple of years there was nothing that indicated he would be anything more than quality depth.

It was admittedly hard to predict after last year. It seemed he couldn't hit any shots longer than about 5 feet. Even this year, it seems he has gained a tremendous amount of confidence as the season went on. Next year, maybe he tries NBA 3's.

With us bringing in Springer and the kid from Shelbyville I would love to see Jalen Johnson move on and find a place that gives him more playing time. Adding an experienced physical big would help us a lot more.

Olivier will return with pretty good experience for a sophomore and Uros is going to be one of the oldest in the conference and just a sophomore. We might be fine inside and I'd hate to lose a 5 year player in Johnson. Without JJ, Pons and Fulk would be the only experienced upperclassmen.

Fulky has some age on him as well. Left DB after his junior year to go to prep school in Asheville. There he reclassified as a junior and played 2 years there. Also he has the redshirt year here as well. My guess is he is 23 years old.
