If the sh!t does hit the fan, it will be people like you that have no plan or did not prepare because you were so caught up with disdain. Take heed to warnings from the CDC/WHO & leave politics out of it for one moment. Your constant bashing of the POTUS is not productive at all. Your entitled to your opinion obviously but it gets really old. You think DT is a terrible leader? Then do something positive and tend to your loved ones or purchase some provisions in time of need.

You can be sensible about what you do. Stock up on foods that you normally eat, not so much as to prepare for shortages but to avoid placed where a lot of people gather. If you are older wear mask in public. If you are older, have younger family members run errands for you. Same precautions as with the flu.

My only concerns at this point stem from the unknowns. I truly believe that we don't have a firm understanding of how this virus operates. Are you still contagious after recovering? What is the incubation period? Are you infectious for the incubation period? Do you carry this virus and are contagious for life similar to HIV? Could a vaccine even be possible? Are there any treatments that have been proven effective to this point or is it something like the cold where it just has to run its course? So many unanswered questions.

Normal buisnesses will close on their own voluntarily. They don't want sued by someones family that was made to come to work and died from this stuff.

I mean, when this is all over the country who the fk needs a 2x4 from Lowes? That's going to be someone's priority?? Lol

Slavery was banned over a 100 years ago so nobody can be made to come to work.

The overreaction by people like you will do 100x more damage to this country than the virus.

Just wondering what your thoughts would be if the government went on the extreme measures you want, shut the nation down, and the disease still spread comparably to how it would with no quaratine.

Wow. I've been concerned for about a month. Whether deserved or not I think we will see some panic here, at least in certain areas. I compare it to the run on grocery stores with a predicted 1/2 inch of snow. 😂

I've been stocking up on foods not so much for a shortage but to be able to avoid public spaces as much as possible during the peak of the illness. It's food we eat anyway so it won't be wasted if not needed.

No they can't be made to come to work but they can be fired for not coming to work. Could you imagine the lawsuits flying of people fired for not coming to work if it gets bad? LG would have to stop posting.

We had tons of controversy with GW/Gore and the hanging chads, but when 911 happened, most felt we were safe with GW as president and could trust him.

I am not a paranoid person, but I don't feel safe or feel like I can trust Trump in a crisis. He can't tell the truth, he believes conspiracy theories and puts yes men around him, because he can't stand criticism. I will say I do still have confidence that some of the Republicans will step up since Trump has the base thinking the Democrats and news organizations are evil villains.

Involuntary's suggestions are good ones.

When did I say I wanted extreme measures?
I have said that I thought it was appropriate that people known to have the virus or to have been exposed to the virus have a mandatory period of quarantine.
I think everyone agrees with that. Except for Hog - who says it shouldn't be mandatory, but that people who transmit the virus in public should be prosecuted. (we can discuss the lunacy of that position some other time)
