2020 Presidential Race

Hey Looth,
Found you a new T Shirt

His approval rating is higher now than ever before......just a little reminder that most Americans really do want him as President and be there for 2 more terms.
That just means it was worse before. It doesn’t make it good now. For a president with a strong economy, it’s embarrassing.

And I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume “2 more terms” was a typo.

That just means it was really and before.

And I’m not even sure if you’re trolling with “2 more terms” or you actually believe that.

Yes and no. Incumbents getting to the 46% range tend to get re-elected. Gallup has him at 49. RCP average is over 46. I believe both Clinton and Obama were in the mid-upper 40s when they were reelected. He's at his highest levels with Rs and I's now. D's are almost uniformly against him but that won't be enough.

Importantly, the right direction/wrong direction numbers are the highest now since 2005.

Provided there isn't a major economic meltdown, Trump is the likely winner even if he's around 46% in the polls - people choose known over unknown.

I’m not disagreeing with any of this.

I just think an occasional reminder that most Americans do not want Trump to be president is needed.

We know most Americans didn't vote for Trump. That doesn't mean they're unhappy he's President. Most Americans didn't want Hillary for President either. Neither candidate received 50% or more of the popular vote. Hillary received 48.2%, and Trump received 46.1%. Again, only the EC matters, which Trump clearly won, but neither received a 50% majority of the popular vote.

Those are facts, and they trump (pun intended) your feelings.
