2020 SOTU Speech Thread

Iit wouldnt surprise me if he loses or wins. If he wins we'll have 4 more years of reprieve, the chances are big that a marxist wins in 2024. Either way our country continue it's immoral trajectory down.

After reading the last few pages it's clear some liberal voters are struggling with this.

I understand their pain. I hated the Patriots for years but I grew to accept and respect greatness. I despised UCONN women's basketball and Alabama football but realized as UT got worse in both sports my disdain was misguided. UT had to fix internal problems before they could compete with either. They needed to set their sights lower for more realistic goals first when there was internal program problems.

Part of the ranting and raving has as much to do with looking in the mirror of the party and not seeing a pretty picture. That gets projected in the outbursts. So sad. So much pain. So much hate.

I too think it will just delay the inevitable downward trajectory by another 4 years, but that is what democrats are furious about.

Great night for the President and for the country. He puts America first. I can’t ever remember such a positive SOTU. Last night was likely the first time many Americans have heard the message about how great we are doing right now because we all know most networks aren’t reporting it simply because they hate this President so much

You know, I have thought about this a lot. My thinking may be somewhat pessimistic, but I am evolving. We elected Trump over one of the biggest establishment candidates in decades because the people wanted a different direction, just like when Bush failed and Obama came forth.
This democracy thing is always messy and nothing happens in a vacuum and things are always back and forth. And thank goodness for the 3 branches of government, with the courts being filled with moderate/conservatives.
Now if the progressives get in power and pack the court or eliminate the electoral college, the republic would be over. IMO.

I like the fact that Trump called out socialism and socialist policies the left has tried to implement. Minus having the widow and her son there, I think that was a great speech.

Stop getting your videos for the Trump Propaganda Network (Fox News Channel) or some Alex Jones/Alt-Right FB site. Fox used to be a real news channel...now they are just a bunch Bill O'Reilly wannabees (Tucker) along with some eye candy to draw you in as well. Telling everything you want to hear. Mainly, "Its not you fault...if you feel you have been left behind, blame Hispanics." Bottom line: FNC and MSNBC pander to their respective political bases for ad revenue.
No one says they feel left behind. That's a left wing talking point created in their alternate reality.

Im gonna close Gitmo... oh wait... if you like your doctor? no..... hmmmm
The Gitmo one was my favorite because it was based on pure emotion since he had zero idea what it actually was. Then he gets slapped down by the military and poof it's a non talking point of the left..

Pretty sure you don't really care about morality.

except I'm actually a fiscal conservative unlike you and many others on here who have no idea what that means. But keep trying big guy
I know what it means. Do you honestly in your heart of hearts believe Hillary could have been that physical conservative you want in the White House today? Because that was the other option. A populist or a liberal for sale to the highest bidder. Given those two options (because those were the two options) I'll support the populist that has Americans best intrest in mind vs the lady in the pant suit selling American interests to whomever is willing to meet her price.

if you belief that trump is one then you don't know what it means

I don't care about Hillary and never supported her. There were lots of other options in the primary that were much more conservative yet trump was chosen by the gop. They sold out for an election win

The primary has been over for 4 years. The choice was between Hillary and Trump. Neither is a fiscal conservative or any kind of conservative. One has a proven track record of looking out solely for herself and her family. The other was a populist political unknown. If you can see that the American people made the best choice of the less than ideal options they you really need to sit down and reevaluate what is important to you and yours. I get that he is spending money we only have on paper but if you believe we would be better off somehow with Hillary I cant help you.

Finished SOTU. I'm not really sure why everyone thought that was Trump's greatest speech? I mean, he never has good speeches, but this was pretty meh, even by his incredibly low standards.
His delivery and cadence is unique to New York but it's better than the last guy saying um 57,834 times every 8 minutes.

The gop loves to ignore the primary and focus on Hillary because they now realize what they gave up. My argument isn't about Hillary and never was. Not sure why the tactic from the right seems to only consist of "but the other guy..."
