Wouldn't you really like to see Hillary come out and run again late or the leadership openly foil the Bernie experiment. I would pay $10 for a front row seat and a box of popcorn.

Lordy Lou....price for a ticket to that clown show would be more like $4285.00 + another $25 for the popcorn.
That's how much a single ticket to Sunday's SB costs. Entertainment isn't cheap these days.

I don't know what AshG is talking about either since no examples were given.

As for your other point, we left Europe many years ago for a reason. We didn't want to be like them. It'd be idiotic to want to be like them now. We came here for a better life. It's in our DNA to be different. Independent.

Having said all that, what country is the model that Socialists want us to emulate? Nobody's ever answered that

We have done more to lessen that leadership position in the past 3 years than at any other time over the past 100.
We've gone from being respected, admired, and emulated to being primarily a cautionary tale.

The way some of you point to Venezuela as the logical result of socialism, others point to Trumpism as the logical result of capitalism.

We all know what's going to happen anyway. Conservatives will do their civic duty and show up at the polls. Most of the liberal voting bloc will sit at home or work with their heads hung that their favorite candidate wasn't chosen, then whine about it until they don't bother to show up to the next election either.

In which case, we sort of get what we deserve. Negative consequences should eventually impart a lesson. If liberals didn't learn in 2016, then they can't continue claiming to be that much smarter than conservatives.

Your "in favor of things" ain't coming back anytime soon these days. I do agree on the abortion issue though.
If adults want to have children then plan it out. Don't live above your means. If kids want to have sex then use protective birth control. I didn't have kids until I had a good paying job at 36 years old. I was still kind of leary about making my monthly payments on other commitments that were made. But we made it just fine w/God's help.

I'm not trying to open a can of worms, but we've got to be very careful with how we handle banning abortion. There's some really bad science out there being peddled as policy options that's going to kill people. Ectopic pregnancies can't be replanted, so it's abort or let the mother die.

Nationalism is coming back in a big way look at the US since President Trump was Elected and look at the UK since they voted for Brexit;) Nationalism has also spread to Italy,Austria,Hungary and Poland:cool:
