So obviously we can't recruit with S. Carolina, Uconn, MState.. but how does Syracuse land a top 5 recruit who is from our state, then we only have one top 100 player signed. Ole Miss has more top 100 than us and we beat them by a huge margin.

Because our staff wasn’t on the last recruiting trail very long ... we shall see how they do with the 2021 class and especially 2022 where they had more time to build these relationships.

I think Kellie said her priority was to keep the incoming recruits (this year’s freshman) and then get on the road for 2020 recruits because of the late start and then get in on 21s which she did with vengeance becuz she is in on some really great 21s.

Still to be determined if staff can recruit they got here way to late to do anything last class except what they did. I think they got two very good players that are better than our bench this year. This next class coming up needs to be strong we'll see how it turns out before we make a judgement.

KJH may have to bring in two or three top JC players and 2 or 3 graduate players to improve play for 2020-2021. We also need Zay back playing well. I do not see the two 20 recruits making a major different. I would like to see the coaches work with the post from West Virginia. We have to have someone who can replace Key in the post when she needs some rest or get into foul trouble.

agreed. I said in an earlier post a JC post would be beneficial to replace TK but also beat up on her in practice and make her work. I am sure John makes her work but when she is up against KK she prolly doesn’t have to work very hard

Shoronna Reaves was one of the best LV recruiters in all of womens basketball with two great classes; yet she was not even considered to be a part of this coaching staff. The results are there, the LV did not get any of the top players with Reaves gone.

Not sure if there was room to keep Reaves along with the rest of the new staff (or if she would have been interested), but it would have been nice to have had someone who'd been in contact with impact players.

Do we even know if there were any '20 players who were strongly leaning toward TN before the coaching change?

Got to have post help......KK is not the answer now, or in the future. I know that is brutal but this team can never be a contender with her on the court for valuable minutes....She appears to be a sweet girl, but she is a liability that every competent coach will capitalize against us with. When her and Harris are on the floor together, we are doomed.

The secret is to get two great players and then surround them with good role players. That's how Dawn and Geno built the programs. Tennessee is one player away from being at that level. They have some very good role types, they just need another player to mesh with Davis. If I went by last nights game I would say UCONN and Tennessee were terrible shooting teams....but it was just one of those nights with a lot of adrenaline behind every move....both are better than they played.

What are they feeding them at UT is the big question. Both men and women's teams have turnover issues and no ball handlers.

Maybe CJP could lend Nieds to Kellie for a few weeks to shore up recruiting?

If CKH can't recruit at a HIGH level (minimum Top 10), there is really no sense to continue the program. Seriously... may as well shovel dirt on it. Women's bball is MUCH more dependent on talent than coaching. Why? Because there are very few ladies that can play bball at an extremely high level (ie Parker, Taurasi, etc). It's gotten better over the last 20-25 years, but still not enough to even the field. The teams that recruit the best, win the most. The ONE stand out exception was HCW!!! We were unlucky enough to hire a legacy that was way over her head from the get-go.

Scoring avg. +22 scored 40 or so against us. Doesn't sound like the point guard ball handler we need. (however you can always use points) But at 5' 5" I don't think she can excel in the tall trees of the women's game. Many of which will be as quick as she and have a loooong reach. If we have "room" she could be of help, but do we have room?

Can't excel? I think she put up forty on us.

With Kelly being a point guard in college, I think she will be able to recruit and get one of the best ones in 2021 or 2022.

Recruiting will be great going forward I have no doubt we our the Lady Vols. Last night exposure of our program history and how we our women's basketball and single handedly by playing Uconn grew women's game. I would think there we re many young basketball players from high school down that was hearing that over and over. All Kellie and her coaches have to do is capitalize.
