If the facility has a no smoking policy, if smoking in the facility is in fact against the law....then a security guard for the facility is hired to enforce that policy. That's how it works.
You can continue the attempted deflection on the situation if you want, but you're wrong.
Pointing at a Gatorade bottle in an open locker isn't exactly "searching the players belongings" either, but that's still irrelevant speculation on your part that doesn't change the fact the guard has every right to enforce the facility policies he works for.
