The Atlanta Braves

Bowman made a fake Arenado trade in an article for mlb.com

Waters
Anderson
Inciarte
Jaseel de la Cruz

I would do that today
I think Riley or Camargo would have to go back so that package doesn’t really make sense IYAM

I would trade those 4 guys though if he tore up the opt out tho

I would do that trade with or without the opt out. I want a WS title dammit. What if you did that trade...

Then you traded Shane Greene, Bryse Wilson and Huascar Ynoa for Schwarber. Cubs get a young talented starter and a bullpen arm. Maybe they don’t do it, but...

Acuña
Ozzie
Freddie
Arenado
Schwarber
Swanson
Markakis
Catcher

Boom

Imagine if that catcher was JT REALGOATO 😳

Z, you do realize Arenado’s road OPS is less than 800, right? And his road OBP is a putrid .323, slugging .476... it’s just keeps going on and on

NO THANKS

He’s probably my favorite non Brave in the bigs right now but on that contract alone he isn’t worth it. Then you’re asking me to give up Anderson AND Waters? Nah.

If it guaranteed a championship of course I’d do it. But this lineup, adding Arenado in his non Coors form, doesn’t even make us the favorite in the NL. And the Braves FO will absolute let his contract hang around their neck once it becomes too heavy.

His defense is incredible and that doesn’t slump but hard no on adding him. Rocks know they made a mistake with that contract, that’s pretty telling.

Yes, but if you take the last four years he had two excellent years away from Coors with 2018 being more of an aberration. Using OPS...

2019: .866
2018: .772
2017: .886
2016: .832

Plus two things: One, hitters have talked about how because the ball breaks different at Coors it affects their ability to hit outside of Coors and can lead to such large splits. Is he a .947 OPS guy outside Coors? Probably not. But I don’t see a reason why he can’t be a .900 OPS. Even adjusting for Coors he is a 130 OPS+ guy.

He’s also a fantastic all around player. He’s an elite defender and 30 homers. You’re still gonna get a 6 win player most likely.

You can really spin numbers I’ll give you that. Should be a stock broker.

You know he is 1/2 the player away from Coors. Stop playin

They made a mistake giving him an opt out after three years into the contract and then losing 91 games in 2019. They know he’ll most likely opt out and go to a contender. That’s why he is on the block.

It’s about value with us Z, NA is awesome but his contract is NOT a value with him no longer playing slow pitch in Coors. Couple it with what it would take to get him and it ain’t worth it.

Half the player?! Come on, he’s not going to put up the raw numbers but he’s more than a 3 win player away from Coors. You’re basically saying he’ll be a league average hitter if he came to Atlanta.

He will be better than league average but NOT WORTH WHAT YOU’D BE PAYING HIS ASS AND WHAT YOUD HAVE TO GIVE UP TO GET IT.

Say what you will but he has played one more game on the road than at home and his OPS is 200(!) ticks lower than at home. BA 60 ticks lower, SLG .140 lower, literally everything is significantly lower. That’s a MASSIVE red flag. Ozuna can give you similar for basically nothing.
