i will give you this. the older teams would definitley have to adjust their level of physicality to today's softer game....there was no targeting or illegal blind side blocking or unnecessary roughness hits on the QB in the pocket (so long as not late)....

defenders back then were looking to take your head off.

no penalties back in the day for hits like this...

I am in actual physical pain just from watching that hit.

Burrow is great, but his receivers win more one on one balls and snatch high throws out of the sky on the regular than I've ever seen. He's getting a lot of help
agreed. i hink you have to give the WR's a lot of credit.

that said, Joe Burrow's ball placement is ridiculous....he puts it in the right spot as good as i've seen.

nbf twss.

Unrelated, you should check out audiio.

Subscription based music licensing. Here's the catch though, they are offering a "first in the door" deal that's ridiculously insane. ONE time $199 and you get the licensing for a lifetime. Gotta sign-up/purchase before March 1st though. Not sure how much music you need/license though, but it's an insane deal and they've got some good selection already.

The license is good for everything too except TV Shows and major feature films.

I use audioblocks, they are pretty good if you know what to hunt for.

The old heads dont want to accept it, but comparable great 90's teams would likely be crushed by teams from today. Everyone is bigger, stronger, faster than before coupled with analytics and technology.

Haha.
Butch Jones had two 9 win seasons in today's game. And his S&C consisted of a juice bar and sleep therapy.

If todays defense were allowed to play like this I imagine they could do some damage as well.

they're not.

it's hard to argue "eras" in any sport.

so relative to what i've seen against contemporary competition levels....95 Nebraska was the most dominant team i've seen.

01 Miami, 04 USC, 09 Bama, 18 clemson and 19 LSU are in that mix as well.....but that NE team was stooopid good....the obliterated everyone.....and made Spurrier's 2nd best UF team look like a middle school team.

From the Athletic's Preseason top 25 for next year:

19. Tennessee (8-5)
The Vols ended the season on a six-game winning streak, with their young defense finishing in the top 25 nationally in yards per play. The entire D-line, freshman LB Henry To’o To’o and CB Bryce Thompson lead a host of returning starters. We’ll see if the never-ending QB derby between Jarrett Guarantano and Brian Maurer finally resolves itself. The offensive line could improve considerably with G Trey Smith returning.
Going to be fun to watch next season.
