That's how it should be IMO. Fulmer doesn't need to worry about women's rowing or organizing fundraisers. His job is to make sure Pruitt (or his successor, should it come to that) gets what he needs to field a competitive SEC football team, and occasionally step in when we need to make a basketball hire or renegotiate a contract. I don't want a guy who devotes even 5% of his energy to non-revenue sports if it means some of that focus is taken away from football. That's what the assistant ADs are for. They can run the administrative stuff while Fulmer uses his clout to get things done for the bellwether program.

And if his replacement is an assistant AD, it needs to be a UT person who hasn't been corrupted or been a bean counter elsewhere, i.e., no more John Curries. Preferably someone with playing and/or coaching experience, if any are on staff.
Couldn’t have said it any better myself. This is the Doug Dickey model.

Ceptin the Patriots year in and year out, resting your starters and 1st round byes are a hindrance. Always felt that way about Peyton’s Colts. No surprise that his first Super Bowl win was in a season the Colts had to play wild card weekend.

If I’m the Titans I’d much rather play the Texans than the Chiefs. The Texans remind me of a less talented Ravens team. Spy Watson, make him beat you with his arm.
