You think he's a better coach than Doug Pederson?

I don't know, NFC East hasn't been a stellar division in Doug's 4 seasons. The SB season Reich was the Eagles OC too, haven't looked the same since he left on offense. We shall see, I think Dallas has a better roster than the Eagles and I think a good HC with better talent can beat a great HC with a lesser team.

8 outta 13 seasons were 10+ wins

Is what it is, Rodgers as an elite QB will get all the credit when things are successful. I think hiring Pettine was the best move by a first time HC, probably ever.

If they really wanted a prior NFL head coach, it would have been hard to do better than McCarthy.

Most NFL minds will pat them on the back once the dust settles on this off-season/coaching search as having made the best hire.

McCarthy made a smart choice, I'm sure he was a top candidate in a few other spots too. Dallas has all the pieces and he'll have an elite RB for the first time that Dallas has already paid & is fully behind.

I don't recall any other teams even consider McCarthy in the past year.

Problem in GB was Rodgers and McCarthy started butting heads. McCarthy is a great coach. If Dallas can keep their core talent around, then 9 wins should absolutely be the floor in that weak division - though I like Rivera in Washington. Still think the problem in Dallas is Dak. He doesn’t have elite accuracy and he’s not clutch. He can’t pass against good defenses.

see TN Titans v NE Patriots

I only ask cause I wonder if he knew what he was getting himself into before hand. Or he came in and was blindsided by the BS and just said f it, I’ll get paid and do the least amount possible to get by
I mean he was only there the last butch year when it was already too late to fix anything. Hard to blame him for that. Butch should've been fired after 2016.

I would love to have Dak as my team's problem. Would gladly trade Jameis for Dak. He's a good qb.

Titans GM has definitely been impressive. I really think Titans have one of the best rosters in the AFC too...a few other teams are ahead of them in Ws with elite QBs. Sadly I don't think Tannehill is elite, he's very good and fits in well and has had a great half season though.
Healthy cam newton would fit titans offense perfectly.
