JG just can’t play good

This is a great thread, very entertaining. But idiots arguing that JG can be compared to Burrow? Fairly low football IQ I guess. Do you NOT see JG throwing late? Doesn't a good QB throw receivers open?
Do and have you NOT seen JG throwing high?, Missing wide open receivers all year? Sliding 2 yards short of a first down on 4th down? Calling your own play ate goal line and getting stuffed when your RB would have walked in untouched? Good got dang- you want to talk about statistics? GEEEEZ I'll be glad when HB gets here to settle this. JG is a below average SEC QB, he throws the ball up and his big wide receivers win jump balls. DONE.

I agree, and yet it still took a miracle for us to eek out a win. I don’t really come away from that game impressed from a coaching stand point. I’m neutral on Pruitt after 2 years, he really needs to show us something next year.
6 wins in a row? I believe he has shown us something.

What is all this fascination with #1 reps? The starter works with the first team most of the time but everyone gets about the same number of reps until the season begins and then it isn’t much different.
Thats what I was eluding to.

Guarantano's QBRs by game this season: Steady improvement?
  1. 38.6
  2. 62.7
  3. 99.1e
  4. 24.1
  5. 75.8
  6. 99.1
  7. 45.2
  8. 93.1
  9. 45.3
  10. 97.5
  11. 93.0
  12. 42.6
  13. 16.7
[/QUOTE

That QBR tells the true story. You cannot have this see saw play and expect to win the East.
JG coming back as experienced back-up. If Bailey or Maurer ball out enough to earn the starting position Best scenario for consistent team.I believe we have team to compete for East.
If they don't JG is what he is and feel like he is good enough finish with 7 or 8 wins. Could beat some team not supposed to and lose to a head scratcher or 2.
It is what it is.

What stats are you basing this off? Our teams record?

His record as a starter, current 9-16.

His season averages are less than 200 passing yards per game and less than 2 TD’s per game when he had the majority of the receiving group being same players.

His benching during his 3rd year as starter.

His going rogue in a winnable game vs Bama that threw game away.

I agree. You’re never going to stand even a punchers chance vs the likes of UGA, Bama, UF, OK or LSU playing not to lose as evidenced by the past few years of JG at qb. With teams that good you gotta score points and play good defense. With BM at qb we were in the game in the 4th vs UGA. Unheard of these days with Tennessee. We had a real chance to actually beat Bama as well even with his inexperience. To me that’s a sign of future potential when a freshman played his best games vs the stiffest competition. But in order to beat those teams you need a qb willing to take chances so they know they better defend every blade of grass.

I’m not JG fan but you’re completely wrong to say we were in the UGA because of Maurer. The defense kept it a two score game by forcing 3 punts in the third quarter and the offense could not do anything. Maurer provided a first half spark but played less than good in second half. Stevie Wonder even saw that.

Understood. But my point was we were in the game. In the past with JG at qb it was 3 and out quite often and the inability to stop them from scoring at any given moment and the boat race was on by halftime.

But that means nothing specifically in the UGA game. Defense did enough to win. The offense fell flat and didn't adjust at halftime.

Exactly. We didn’t adjust where they did. Possibly because BM doesn’t know enough of the playbook to make said adjustments but to me it was a sign of future potential being much more competitive with a team like that than in the recent past. Have we ever been down only 2 scores in the 4th vs UGA with JG at the wheel? I’m not sure but it just felt different.

But you’re right. The defense stepped up as well and deserves recognition.

Maurer was 2-2. JG was 4-3. Jennings / JT were 2-0.

There is no “i would say” or fuzzy math. It’s funny how the JG homers literally go against the norm of record keeping that everyone in the world uses like its flawed all of the sudden.
Ridiculous, neither Maurer, JT or Jennings did anything of value at QB to contribute to a single win this season. JT would be the only one that really contributed outside of Guarantano and that was on such a small scale. None of the 3 made a single winning play that actually contributed to the win other than what little production JT had at SC and the 5 positive plays Maurer had vs Ms St.

Neither did anything to lose them either... and if you say turnovers...JGs turnovers in the bowl cost us more point then all of BMs all season

No kidding, these guys think QB2 and QB3 just sit on the sidelines and watch during practice every day.

once again not true but so what as it didn't effect the final outcome of the game so big whoopee!!

We don't know if they would have cost us games or not, all we know is that JG came in and won games that they didn't finish out for whatever reasons.
